When using the old firmware and wanting to turn the box off while it is still recording we have been told to select the sleep option with 10 minutes - so that it will close down after the recording ends.

Is that still the recommended way of working - or can we now press "yes" or "no" safely?

Oddly, answering yes, or no was never a problem. Leaving the prompt unanswered could cause a crash during the record period.

You could give it a go. Start a manual record with a duration of 30 minutes, and then press the red standby button. Unfortunately you?ll have to try multiple channels, as the behaviour varied between them. On some channels, there was never a problem, others would crash within 5 minutes, whilst other took a little longer.

Probably best to get in to the habit of using the sleep timer, as leaving the standby dialogue on the screen isn?t an officially supported feature.
