I can confirm it does work via an Asus.

Yeah, it's the only connection. I'm using 192.168.2.58, port 21, anonymous, password.

Glen.

Second line of the program window:-
'Edit TapUpdateList.txt" to change' maybe should be 'Edit <ToppyUpDaterList*.txt>'

Not my bloody Asus. I'm sure its very obvious but I just can't see that I'm doing anything wrong.

I used the host name, not the ip address.

I should probably know this, but what could my hostname be? I only ever use the IP address.

Run up the Asus config app in IE by entering it's IP address in the address bar. You will need to log on as Admin. Under IP Config then LAN, you can enter a host name and associate the Asus's IP address.

I use the host name when using Filezilla.

HTH,

MG

One thought actually. What are the ip addresses of people that are failed connections? There used to be an issue with 0s in the address I think.

Just tried this and hit a problem. I ran it once and set disabled those TAPs not to check and hit Save. The process went through OK but then I tried to run it again and got the meesage:-

Line no 5 is invalid: # File:<File name to be maintained - case sensitive> followed by semicolon

I assume this relates to the contents of the saved file which are:-

# This file defines information to allow TAPs to be automatically updated
# All info after "#" is ignored, as are blank lines
# Each line defines one TAP file, and may consists of following elements
# Description - anything you like followed by semiocolon
# File:<File name to be maintained - case sensitive> followed by semicolon
# From:<Web site for file - must be either the file itself with correct name, or zip containing file - case sensitive> followed by semicolon
# To:<Folder on Toppy wherefile stored - case sensitive
# "Update Disabled" if file is not to be maintained at present - case insensitive> followed by semicolon
#"To:" and "From:" elements may be on preceding lines, and need not be repeated where the same as previous file
# Can insert spaces and tabs before & between elements as you wish

After every "Update Disabled", there should be a semi-colon. I think each "#" should be "##" as well.
