Can someone tell me how to use Jags Auto Off tap.

I want my toppy to switch off at 12 midnight. I thought all I would need to do is copy the tap for midnight (can't remember the filename now - but there was one for each hour) into the auto start folder.

Just checked and my toppy didn't go into standby. Is there something else I need to do to get this working, or is there another tap out there that will switch the toppy off at a set time?

Hi,
I guess you have used Jags_Auto-Off_24-00.tap. At the specified time it will set a sleep timer of 10 minutes (by sending the sleep key code twice).
Then at 00.10 the toppy should go into standby.

At least that's how it's supposed to work Wink

Regards,
Happy

I have just tried it again with the Jags_Auto-Off_10-00.tap. I waited until 10:15am and still hadn't turned the toppy off. Has anyone used this on the 5800 succesfully?

The only reason I want this is so Jags EPG will run in the early hours of the morning. I have a universal remote that will turn all devices off at night that I could use, but the fact that it will then be turned on in the morning because of the "Wake Up" timer, would mean turning the devices on would also turn the toppy off (if that make sense).

Ah; if it sends the Sleep key twice to set the timer, then we have a problem - there's no sleep key on our remote, and the sleep function is accessed via the Opt key, then choosing the last menu on the list.

Nigel.

I have been writing an auto off that works on the 5800. However I don't get a lot of time and I keep thinking of other usefull things to put in it. When I get something releaseable I will send it to Nigel to put in the TAPs section (if someone else doesn't beat me to it).
