Are timer events generated by ControlTimers dynamically updated as the EPG changes? |

Depends on the setting you have selected for reloading EPG data, and the source of your EPG data. |

I see the regular "Loading...Searching..." msg coming up. I've assumed the first is MyStuff re-loading my Freeview.mei file. Is the "Searching..." msg to indicate it's looking through the CTs to reset any (real) timers, if needed? |

Thats correct, the Searching is returning all searches for CT's.
If a new Freeview.mei file was written just after a program change, and MyStuff was set to reload every 5 mins, then the CT will delete the first timer and reload the new changed one.
Mind you the chances of the above happening before a scheduled change is quite slim |

Probably using eit2mei and a wake up timer. I don't know about MyStuff settings yet as my Toppy has not arrived - I've just been reading the manual in anticipation!
Any recommendations for the best way would be appreciated. |

I don't no how often eit2mei write's a new freeview.mei file as i get my data from the Radio Times website. If you ask in the eit2mei thread they will be able to tell you. I know that it will only do a backgroung scan after 15 min of inactivity ie no ketpress of the remote and no recordings are going on.
I don't think this will be reliable enough.
Another way is using UK Auto Scheduler, as this checks the toppy EIT every 10 mins and will spot changes, provided you have the toppy switched on. |

eit2mei only writes out a new Freeview.mei file when it finds a change in the eit data.
The frequency that you can get eit2mei to look, is governed by it's ini file. The default is 15 minutes of inactivity from the Remote before it performs a background scan. You can override that value by inserting the relevant entry into it's ini file and copying it across to the Toppy with Altair. All instructions can be found in the readme document that comes with the eit2mei TAP in the zip file.
Can I also remind folk to post TAP questions in the relevant TAP thread, or if the TAP relies on external data, those threads are in the computer connections topic area
The reasons for this are given here:-
