I have been using MyStuff for some time... top class i must say. However now fed up with gappy EPG so decided to try and get the extended info / RT download working.
Loaded BawBags extended info and generated MEI file successfully. Uploaded latestversion of MyStuff, set it to load my new MEI file as instructed (change option 41 in mystuff to 7 days).
I then reloaded the data and now EVERY channel shows "No Information" on the guide.
Checked my MEI file on the laptop and it is full of data..

.. anyone suggest where I have gone wrong please ??

Have you downloaded into the right directory (Program Files)? Have you switched to standby & re-started since copying the file onto the Toppy?

Afterthought:

Have you remembered that the filenames on the Toppy are case sensitive so the file really needs to be ?MyStuff.mei?, and not ?mystuff.MEI? or ?MYSTUFF.MEI?.

Shouldnt need to do a standby and restart.

Copying the file to \ProgramFiles, changing MyStuff option to 7 days and then reloading data (by using the penultimate option) or restarting MyStuff should be enough to get the MEI data in.

The fact that you are getting No Info for all channels suggests that it has loaded the MEI, but that it doesnt like it. Possibly a problem with the ids in the file. Did you download and replace the two files (Alt something or other.txt and UserChannels.txt) from Bawbagg's site, as per his instructions? If not, then that is probably it.

kevman - sounds like you've got a dicky implementation of AltChIDs.txt.

If not, then we better have a closer look at this.

After being put off by the apparent complications of MEI setup I decided to have a go today. Took me a while but I now have a fortnights extended info on one of my Toppys.
Thanks to BB & Bob and everyone involved in writing and bringing all this together.
Had a couple of problems; Did not seem to be able to find a link in the instructions to get TFCopy; Google soon found
http://www.8ung.at/aldarin/tools.html
All the other neccessary files where very easy to find with the supplied links; thanks.
Initially I could not get info for More4 and ITV4. Second try however and they appeared. In between I visited the Radio Times site where some months ago I set up favourites which did not include these channels. added them. When I tried grabbing the XTLTV again they where included. May have been some other factor but could a favourites list on the Radio Times site filter the download perhaps?
I seem to have to replace the MEI file on the Toppy manually using Altair.
Perhaps I missed something here as it sounds from the instructions like this should be automatic.

My only problem now is not being able to get all this excellent stuff on my other Toppy regularly; because it is in the east wing of Richard46 Towers and the PC is in the catacombs under the west wing.

Anyway lovely stuff and thanks again to all involved. Very Happy

Richard

PS to any other non-techies who have been thinking about using this facility give it a go; the excellent instructions make it a doddle really and the extra info is worth it.

Edit thought I was in the main MEI thread I will paste it in there as well R46
