Thanks Geoff. I've had a look at the folders and there's nothing there. I assume that they and the recording won't cause any problems if I delete them.

That disk looks fine - you just don't have the old recordings on it.

Also your signature looks very "bare". There are several patches and taps that you should be running (especially my PruneEPG tap).

I suggest you run GCBMyStuffInstaller (from my web site) and choose option 1 (this will load MyStuff and all the other bits you require). MyStuff really transforms the toppy into what it should have been. Should you really not like it, you can disable it by renaming \ProgramFiles\Auto Start\MyStuff.tap to .pat (or deleting it)

To get your old recordings on the new disk, reinstall the old disk and use Antares to copy everything in DataFiles to your pc (just tick the directory to copy all it's contents). Then reinstall the new disk and reverse the operation.
Alternatively, if you can connect the old disk to the pc, do so and use TopfHDRW to copy the files to the pc (this would be quicker). You could then attach the new disk to the pc and use TopfHDRW to copy them across (I believe TopfHDRW can copy directly from disk to disk if you can attach both toppy disks to the pc but I'm assuming you can attach at most one).

If you want to post your MyInfo log or ask other questions then please do so in a different thread (otherwise this thread gets very long with non "fsCheck" material)

Yes I ran this before copying all the recordings, it is in progress now, 22hrs which looks good compared to the 2-3 days it took to back them up. I realised I had to turn off laptop power saving sleep.
Will try your suggestions when all done, I had lived with the minimal taps you see there for 15 years. Rolling Eyes

Just to add Geoff -

The UDMA error count of 392 was acquired when I had a Topfield PATA/SATA adapter installed. A while ago I replaced it with an adapter supplied by Andyfras and the count hasn't gone up since.

Could the disk corruption date back to the time when the Topfield adapter was installed?

The log shows that the disk is physically ok and that the file system is not corrupted (I wondered if there was a circular FAT reference which was causing MS to loop round indefinitely but that is apparently not the case).
