Yes

If you have any taps which update the firmware (eg fwload, maybe), then that might cause issues, although it's unlkely.

Boot tapless (hold down the zero key while booting) the first time, and then have a look in autostart and move them out if there are any.

I don't believe that there are any issues in doing this.

You don't really need to worry about the firmware as the 5810 is already loaded and FwLoad will choose the correct firmware when/if you have to run it.

One issue might be if you have loaded any extra 5810 specific patches on to the 5810 disk (excluding those loaded by the MyStuff Installer). If you have done this then you will either download them again from R2-D2's patch kit or copy the files between the disks (old disk => pc =>5800 disk). These patches will then be position should FwLoad need to be run.
Note: I suspect you haven't loaded any extra patches (but can't tell because you don't have a proper signature).

So after swapping the disk, I suggest you run TopManager and use the Tools| Update Forum Profile option. - having a proper signature helps others know what you have on the toppy. It would probably also help to post the MyInfo LOg so that we can see the full config.

@cladder58

Your post is very brief and doesn't provide any information to anyone trying to help you.

However, your signature date shows that you managed to create it with TM.
It also shows that you are missing my PruneEPG tap (essential with all the channels that are now available).

You should use the TM| Tools| Install Files| PruneEPG option to install it.
If TM tells you that updates are available FvTxData.tsv and/or Freeview.dat then you should also update these.

Having updated the system, reboot the toppy and generate a new signature.

You should also post the full MyInfo Log (TM Display MyInfo Log, right click the output with the mouse and "Select All", right click again and "Copy", reply to this thread and right click "Paste".

This will show what you currently have on the 5800.

Then connect the 5810 to the pc and post it's MyInfo Log (so a comparison can be made between the two systems).

Please provide all the requested info to avoid us guessing what you have.

Geoff

i did bite the bullet and changed hard drives. It seems to work the only proplem was the timers crossed over from each pvr so hd to go thru delete the ones from other pvr
the 5810 1080 picture quality not very good so use 720 fast forward icon is different than the 5800 its just what you are used too.
are there any other taps i should put on i still think these are one of the better pvrs thanks

That all looks fine.

I had wanted to see the 5810 MyInfo Log using it's original disk but as you have already swapped the disks, don't bother swapping them back again

While there are other taps, I don't think you need them (unless you find there is something you can't do).
