I've just uploaded new versions of these files to the GeeCeeBee.co.uk website.

They can be installed using the TopManager Tools| Install Files option or manually by following the link on the GeeCeeBee site.
Please note that, unless there are major changes, I only intending updating this files every 6 months or so (they take a lot of time to collate/maintain).

FvTxData.tsv
This file contains a list of transmitters and the Mux numbers that they broadcast.
The file is used by both "TopManager| PcControl| Channel Management" and the Channel Organiser tap to restrict the muxes scanned on a retune (this eliminates duplicate channels from nearby transmitters).

The file contains scheduled changes for the next two years or so. Imminent dates will be correct (assuming the changes proceed as scheduled) while further off changes will indicate a range of months in which the change will be undertaken (hopefully by then I will have issued a newer version of the file).

If the worst comes to the worst, instead of selecting a predefined transmitter option, the user can manually specify the Mux numbers required when scanning with TM or CO.

Freeview.dat
Again this file is used by both TM and CO. It contains several fields pertaining to each Freeview channel.

As far as CO is concerned, this file will almost always contain some errors:-
1) There is no accessible database that contains scheduled changes i.e the first one knows about it is when you spot a channel is no longer working or reads about a new channel in the press.
2) The file is updated using channels available on the Mendip mux. This means that I know nothing about channels which are specific to other transmitters.
3) I'm not updating regularly
[edit]
4) Users receiving signals from a Scottish transmitter will need to adjust this file to handle BBC Scotland/ BBC FOUR
[/edit]

For the majority of users, although the file is not "up-to-date", the information for the major channels should be sufficient.
Please note that, if necessary, users can manually update this file to suit their needs (easiest way is probably to use TM| Browse to Settings, select the file and use Edit).

If anyone really needs a transmitter specific channel added then they should pm me.

Geoff

@ccs

Thanks but I already have a way of extracting data for the scheduled changes to transmitters.

I found it useful - no scheduled changes for me until the end of the year.

I've just uploaded a new version of Freeview.dat.

Please note that users who receive signals from a Scottish transmitter will need to edit this file to adjust it for BBC Scotland and BBC FOUR. [edit] The necessary changes are indicated in the file[/edit]

Basically CO (the Channel Organiser tap) only allows a single entry per LCN number. In Scotland, they have moved BBC FOUR from LCN 9 to LCN 82 and put BBC Scotland on LCN 9 (don't blame me!)

I did look at making adjustments automatically but this would involve changing CO, TopManager(TM) and the Freeview.dat format. Too difficult and time consuming, especially as I can't test whether or not it all works.

I have adapted the TM install script so that it does remind Scottish users to adapt the file if it has been loaded by the Tools| Install menu. Note: TM should still remind you when a new version of Freeview.dat becomes available.

I have ***NOT*** modified GCBMyStuffInstaller (or BuildOffLineMyStuffInstaller) to remind Scottish viewers to adjust the file.

Geoff

Cheers Geoff

The regional version of BBC2 has also gone, we now get the generic version, but I had to retune to get it
The BBC wrote:

Scotland’s new television channel, BBC Scotland, launches on Sunday 24 February 2019 at 7pm.

A channel for modern Scotland, it features documentaries, entertainment, comedy, drama, news & current affairs and sport. There’s more information about the channel available here.
Will any channels move?

On Freeview and YouView in Scotland, BBC Scotland will be available on channel 9 (in HD on channel 115). To enable this, BBC Four will move to channel 82. BBC Four HD will remain at 106.

Freeview and YouView viewers in Scotland will need to retune from lunchtime of Monday 18th February to be ready to view the new channel, and to continue watching BBC Two (standard definition) and CBBC HD.

Many receivers will automatically update later in the afternoon on Monday 18th February.

How can I watch it?
As well as on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Scotland channel is available on the following platforms at these channel numbers on the Electronic [list=]Programme Guide (EPG) :-
Platform HD SD
Freeview
& YouView 115* 9
Sky 115 115
Freesat 106 106
Virgin Media 108 108

*Please note that on Freeview and YouView, BBC Scotland HD will be available each day from 7pm, sharing capacity with CBBC HD.

Re-tuning will be required on some Freeview receivers only. Other TV platforms will update automatically before the new channel launches.

Due to capacity constraints, on Freeview and YouView CBBC HD will close at 7pm in Scotland only. CBBC will continue to be available in SD on channel 201 until 9pm, and in HD on the BBC iPlayer. Other platforms are not affected.

Some programmes currently shown on BBC Two in Scotland will also move to the new BBC Scotland channel.

@jimi

Did you have to edit the Freeview.dat file to get the generic BBC2 (or was it just a retune) ?

I have modified now TopManager and GCBMyStuffInstaller to handle the different Freeview.dat files that need to be used with Scottish and "Non Scottish" transmitters.

I have also updated the FvTxData.tsv file (TM should tell you that it is available for download).

Updated FvTxData.tsv file (and Freeview.dat was updated on 13th June)

If you run the latest version (6.2) of TopManager, it should tell you that these files have been modified and are available for download.
