Our Panasonic (Smart) TV only has 1 SCART socket and we have 2 Toppys connected. One via RGB SCART and the other via Component (3 colour phonos). This setup works well. However sometimes the component seems to switch the TV off, while watching a recording, often when the screen goes black just before the credits roll. The TV goes completely off (not standby) and we need to press the on button on TV to turn in back on.

Is actually possible for the component to have this effect? Or is it the telly?

Thanks

PS Toppys still great, in daily use.

My old tv switches to standby if there is no change in the screen content for a number of minutes.

Maybe your tv can configure a similar setting for different input sources?

I don't know of any way that component input can have any effect on a TV other than the TV displaying the signal. The SCART input can switch the TV on/off among other things perhaps your SCART connected TOPPY is turning off the TV?

Have you thought about daisy-chaining the two Toppys SCART to SCART to SCART instead?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try. I need to have a good look at all the TV settings.
