Does TM show a display doing this or are you just aware that it is reading the other pc disks?

I know it's doing it because I run a tool called Process Monitor which shows me what all my programs are up to, I can also tell what drives are being read by the sound they all make! Very Happy

During this operation, it only reads the directories to identify the DLLs. For each DLL, it then reads the first few bytes to identify the exact type.

That might make sense for portions of the C: drive, especially in C:Windows, but not for all my other drives.

It scans all the disks for DLLS - toppy applications may be installed off the C drive.

Sounds as though TM is working as designed.
