Edit: Oh… that site only has info, not the actual TAPs?
Apologies
I've just realised the way EMJB's site originally worked, it was set up so you downloaded the pdf which contained the links to the actual TAP download, obviously the links still point to the old Tiscali website, I'll get it sorted out, but it will take me some time to edit all the links, meantime if anyone needs any of the TAPS, just let me know and I'll post a direct download link. |

In my last post, I said that five of the channels had appeared since last night, but I've just realised that these are simply daytime channels which always say "No information" at night. So ignore that! (I've edited my post above to remove this unnecessary information.)

No, everything shows up fine in the native EPG! This means, as Geoff said, that the problem must be epg2mei or its interface with MyStuff.
Maybe it's time I tried re-installing MyStuff? |

I know you have tried removing the EPG files using the MS interface.
Try
1) boot the toppy tapless
2) TM Tools| Remove Bad EPG files
3) Reboot the toppy normally and wait 25 mins before touching the remote
If the EPG data doesn't appear on the affected channels and is in the native EPG then
4) TM Connection |Browse,
5) Click in EPG.raw to view it and use Ctrl F for one of the channels that is missing.
(Just trying to see if EPG2MEI has put it in the file)

Fot what it's worth, I use this ini file for epg2mei...
ccs wrote: The tap epg2mei has a .ini file which includes a list of channels to restrict/ignore.
You can edit this file, using TopManager, a pc based utility.
Personally, I "allow everything all the time", using the following....
Code: # File updated by Channel Organiser B2.1 on 28/3/2015 at 10:37
[Control]
Output=EPG # Note: this is temporary and the output will eventually be EPG.mei
EuroDST
External=MyStuff
Demangle
MergeExt
UseExtGenre
#AddExtendedInfo
StripDups
Debug=Off
DescSeparator=¬
DescTerminator=
It means subtle changes to channel numbers doesn't do any harm, after running ChannelOrganiser.
NB I don't allow CO to update config files, otherwise the above .ini file would be overwritten. |

I finally got round to trying Geoff's advice this evening.
I ran Top Manager and did Tools > Remove Bad EPG files. The result I got was
"No EPG files were detected"
I then tried browsing the Toppy... The ProgramFiles folder appeared, but strangely, when I tried clicking on it, nothing happened. I rebooted and tried a few times but it just doesn't seem to want to open and browse the ProgramFiles folder.
Even stranger, I noticed that Top Manager seems to be scanning my computer as soon as it loads up. Right now it was just scanning through the entire contents of a drive that I hardly ever use, and I've certainly never told Top Manager to look on there. I can only assume it's some kind of glitch? Weird. |

The "No EPG Files" indicates that EPG2MEI is either not generating the file or that the
file system is corrupted. Does MyStuff currently show EPG data?
You shouldn't have to click on ProgramFiles when you use Connection| Browse option; the left pane should show the contents of the ProgramFiles directory. If this includes a directory called ProgramFiles then you have a file system corruption or you have created a directory with that name.
Also, the Browse option does not scan the whole disk, it only reads the the clusters for the ProgramFiles directory and any directories mentioned in it.
Using the remote, are recordings displayed when you press Archive?
Might be worth checking the the disk cables in the toppy are full seated.
If you can, run fsCheck and post the log file as before.

Just wanted to report that everything is working now, and thanks to ccs and particularly Geoff for the excellent advice.
The problem was that the "new" drive I put in was an older drive that seemed to have its own problems. I put a brand new drive in and everything worked perfectly, as if by magic. In fact, everything is SO much faster than it used to be, it's like a new box! |
