Hi,
Is is possible to rename MyStuff recorded program names?

MyStuff appears to keep a link to the actual native recording name as using native renaming does not rename MyStuff program, yet will still play the newly named recording.

Any ideas?

Neil.

It's probably stored in ProgramFiles/Settings/MyStuff/MyStuff_RecordedInfo.dat

You'll need to stop MyStuff, copy and edit the file on a pc, and then transfer back to the toppy.

Take a backup first.

If you just want to add details like "series 2", it would be easier to use folders and sub-folders to group programmes using MyStuff.

edit: MyStuff manual.....

10. Is there a way to rename programmes in the Archive?

A. Not from within MyStuff. The only way to do this is hand edit the MyStuff_RecordedInfo.dat which is not recommended.

Thanks. That's what I thought, shame though.
Yes, already use folders, but have several music recordings, cropped to the track I want. Wanted to rename to reflect the tracks.

I?ve had this problem, renaming a folder to get rid of ?New? at the start,
and this is the only thread I?ve found, so sorry if it?s been posted elsewhere.
I went into the native archive by pressing the archive button again,
pressed the blue button for options,
selected ?rename?, hit the blue button four times to delete ?New?,
hit the blue button to save,
then exited out.
I did a closedown, switched off the toppy for a few
seconds, powered on again, and the altered folder name appeared
in MyStuff archive.

That only renames the containing folder.
The only way to change the Archive recording names is to edit the recorded Info file.

(Although someone recently posted a thread for a tap that can remove "New:" from the start of recordings but that is a specalist case).

Hi Geoff,
sorry I didn?t make myself clear, all I wanted to do was rename the folder
containing my recordings. If there IS a way to do this in MS please tell me.
🤗

Follow GoodOlePete's method to rename an existing folder

You will then probably have to modify the your search criteria so that any future recordings go into the same folder.

The magnificent manual suggests...

Archive View:
Yellow button to rename (selected folder)
'Live' button to delete a character
(<< or >> to insert left/right ...)
