As previously indicated version B1.2 is no longer supported but is still available for download from here if anyone wishes to use it. If you do use it, you will need to maintain your own copy of Freeview.dat.

Thought I had better update to B2.1 and its ancillary files. After trying a scan I was presented with a blank screen and had to put Toppy into standby & back again. This time the scan worked (not sure if menu item 3 or 4 was used). I then changed my choice of transmitter to include the local mux (knowing that the signal will be next to zero). CO reported the mux as missing and did a rescan. At this point 'ok' gave me the blank screen again. Into standby & back and restoring my transmitter choice to exclude the local mux restored normality (although timers were lost).
Scrolling the native EPG still exhibits the LCN going from 3,2,1 to zero as in earlier versions.
The blank screen seems to be the result of some missing information which is restored when a second attempt is made.
5810 Toppy, native EPG.

I have just uploaded an update to the Freview.dat file, kindly provided by Geoff Bacon.

Please note that it has not been possible to keep it within the B1 versions' limit of 20K bytes, so they will almost certainly crash if this file is used.

Although EMJB does not do much toppywise nowadays, he has kindly uploaded a new version of Freeview.dat that I provided.

So many thanks to EMJB for writing CO and still supporting us.

Also. many thanks to bizman for providing a fairly up-to-date file and to ccs for providing a link showing the broadcast times for each channel.

Some notes on the file:
1) The toppy can only handle muxes that broadcast in SD i.e. PSB1, PSB2, COM4, COM5, COM6 and Local (all other muxes being HD). SD channels that have "recently" moved to a HD mux (even though they may still be broadcast in SD) cannot be processed by the toppy. The definitions for these channels are still in the file but I have changed the start of the affected lines to ###= (instead of LCN=)
2) The broadcast times have been taken from here.
Whether these are correc t is another matter!
3) I haven't bothered checking the broadcast times for the "Porn" channels (I'm assuming that you either don't want these channels or that you know the times by heart!)
4) I have tested the download and, following a scan, CO says that there are no errors in the file i.e. the file is good and any future issues are due to freeview changes
5) I don't expect to update this file again for sometime, especially as it requires the goodwill of EMJB to load it for access.
6) Should anyone want to maintain this file on their own toppy, I suggest that, by default, you set both StartTime and EndTime to 0000. As far as I'm concerned, this could be applied to all channels (I believe the restriction were implemented primarily because one broadcaster used to provide both a satellite and a freeview channel and that their broadcast times differed. As the broadcaster used a common EPG, the restrictions were added to prevent the toppy attempting to record when the freeview channel was off air.
(But I could be wrong!)

TopManager, for those who use it, will show that this file has been updated.
Geoff

Although EMJB no longer has any real interest with toppies, he has again kindly uploaded a new version of Freeview.dat.

Also, thanks to bizman for providing me with an up-to-date version of the file.

The file can be installed using the "TopManager | Tools| Install Files" option (when TM is run, it should tell you that a new version of the file exists)

Geoff
