As a happy user of two 5810s and MyStuff 6.5 (sig out of date) I have recently suffered the anomalous failure to record episodes 3 & 4 of Happy Valley.

Because I have the time, and am slightly obsessive, I check, every morning, what was recorded since I went to bed and I go through the day's timers (and those in 7 days time) and the EPG to see if everything is set up OK, or any new searches need to be set up.

Yesterday I noted the timer for Happy Valley was set, but also that it was episode 4 and I only remember there being two recordings in the folder ready to start watching the series: on checking the folder I saw that episode 3 was not recorded. This morning I have found that episode 4 was not recorded.

The timer for next week exists in both MyStuff and the native timer list, any ideas?

PS. I will catch 3 & 4 on iPlayer.

I know it doesn't help - except to prove that it's not a generic problem - but we watched 2 and 3 at the weekend (recorded), and last night's time-slipped. AFAIK, last night's recorded but I can't remember whether I looked for the recording to delete or not. For all I know, it may still be on the Toppy (5810), since we wouldn't have been prompted to delete after playing as we were time shifting, and it probably hadn't even finished recording the padding by the time we reached the end of the programme.

Actually, now I think about it, I'm fairly certain that I picked it from the Archive, rather than by switching channels, just so that I could be sure it would start Happy Valley, and not the preceding chained recording of Holby. So either way, even if I did delete it, it'll still be in the bin if it recorded at all, since I haven't watched Holby.

P.S. The way last night's started may make you wonder whether you've missed an episode! You come in on the middle of something that you didn't see the start of.

Both recorded ok for me.

If the battery is running low, then it might not wake up from standby.

Agreed - front panel clock battery is the most likely cause.
