I have a problem with my new version of Channel Organiser and the TF5810 if a scan fails to detect any channels - the warning message is partially obscured by a stray native graphic and the current time thus:

which is still present over the top of the scan menu if the user wants to retry.

As with the 5800, the Toppy is stuck in the native main menu at this point, but in the case of the TF5800 the TAP screen hides the whole of the native display. Does anyone know how I can hide the unwanted elements?

The FireBird isAnyOSDVisible.c file indicates that there are two graphic planes; suspect bad bits are on the second plane.

There's some discussion on isAnyOSDVisible.c (before and after) this post by R2-D2.

Thanks Geoff & ccs. I suppose I could simply clear the whole of both planes, using the Firebird code as a guide as to addresses and sizes, and I would give it a try on my own machine. However am a bit loathe to ask others to try such a blunderbuss approach, but that might be the only answer if no-one knows any better.

You could try writing to the other plane instead of the one you are using

Possible ignore that, one is a clock graphic which may keep updating (perhaps ccs could check whether it updates?)

Both graphics move - the clock changes once a minute and the other one is some sort of animated gif.

As the graphics move/update, using a different plane is unlikely to work as anything you write is likely to get overwritten (unless they are updating the "lower" plane).

I suppose I could wipe the relevant plane (once having found which one!) at frequent intervals. Another pseudo-fix might be to change the colour scheme to be white with black text, and increase the transparency setting. However I suspect both would be even more irritating than the current work-round.

This problem should be a very rare occurrence in normal use as it only occurs when either:

(1) The user selects the wrong transmitter at the scan menu. However transmitter selection will normally only occur on first use of CO or when transmitter changes occur.

(2) A scan is performed with no signals present from the selected transmitter.

so I am not inclined to do anything other than a perfect and sanitary fix.

If you do think you have found one, I will be happy to test it over a weekend when there isn't much to record & my Toppy usually free.
