The new version is radically different from B1.2 in the following respects:

* It has an auto-scan & -delete mode when all channels are lost that should re-establish your line up as before
* You can delete groups of channels by categories such as porn and shopping
* You can choose to scan for a particular transmitter, using a user-editable database
* The number of options have been pruned drastically, and are no longer all selected at the initial menu.

Somewhat belatedly, this new version is has got to the stage where I would like as many people as possible to test it to check for compatibility with other peoples' configurations (notably on a TF5810) and also to confirm I have not removed some vital feature, or failed to include something that would be popular.

At the moment I am not primarily interested in typos, detailed presentation issues etc provided they do not impact on evaluating the basic functionality, but if you wish to draw them to my attention, please PM me with the details.

The new version with pdf and supporting files can be downloaded from here.

Bizman has reported problems with TF5810 timer restoration on both this and B1 versions, so I have inhibited this function on version B2X6 available from here pending identification of a fix for what appears to be a bug in the FV+ firmwares.

Had a try tonight with the version dated 28 Feb 0912 on my 5800 Toppy.

Tried doing a scan using option 24 but just got a totally blank scan. No keys worked except power off which CO says shutting down.

Then tried using option 3 and also option 4 and all worked OK.

I also tried the options later on to delete grous like porn etc and they were OK.

Hope that helps.

Oops - Somehow introduced a bug in the last version - should be Ok in B2X7 available as before from here.

Sorry about that - don't understand what went wrong but as usual, more haste, less speed!

Just been trying it out.

Went thru' the dialogue no scan and retain existing deletes with review.

Selected OK to "press OK to update config files" and it crashed (froze) with "Updating Extend.ini file" on the screen.

Not sure if I'd have chosen to update extend.ini if given the choice?

Don't worry, there is a later version being evaluated, but at present there are issues with the 5810.

Thanks for the update.

(I thought the issues were timers specific?)

I don't think ccs's problem will be cured by anything I have been doing to fix the 5810 problems with timers and subtitles.

@ccs:
Thanks for taking the trouble to try the new version. It appears to have crashed in a bit I haven't changed from previous versions.

I am very puzzled by there being 728 lines in "ChannelOrganiserDeletes.txt", and wonder whether this is causing some overwriting of memory. Could you please have a look at the file to see if it has a large number of blank lines at the end, and also let me know how long the file is?

The other possibility is that there is something peculiar about your Extend.ini file. Could you please post it so I can try it on my Toppy?

With regards to EPG2MEI, it is currently stopped both initially and again later - I need to remove one or the other!!

The run was done without a scan, so no actual deletions. (Ran a few more times after first crash)

The previous ChannelOrganiser didn't go near extend.ini.

extend.ini
Code:
# File updated by Channel Organiser on 23/8/2009 at 16:01

[Control]
PrePad = 2
PostPad = 6
ChannelOrganiserDeletes.txt (2 blanks at end)
Code:
# List of LCNs to be deleted
# Generated and used by EMJB's Channel Organiser TAP
# List of LCNs to be deleted

Thanks ccs, I think I can see some clues in there. Hope to be able to follow them up tomorrow.

One more clue, possibly.

I've only just started using extend, so this is the first time that ChannelOrganiser has seen it,

and I'm pretty sure I opted not to update any settings files when I used it a few weeks ago.

Is it worth trying the live version of CO on my current config?
