<  New users start here  ~  Sound dropping out

The sound is dropping out on recordings. PVR5800. I have the latest firmware.
This happened before about 3 or 4 years ago (maybe nore?) and I found a chap on these forums who knew what to do. I had to send him my PVR and he replaced something inside. It worked a treat. It was something like the valves he had to change. I'm sure it wasn't valves but it was a series or bank of something. It didn't cost much (about 40). I can't find the thread any longer (probably long since gone), but can anyone help me please? Thanks.
PS I should add that the sounds is dropping out on previous recordings that played fine as well as new recordings including paused TV

Almost certainly the capacitors.

I expect you either sent it to Andyfras in Hampshire, or MikeyP in Bolton. And it probably cost you less than that ;o).
