No. Once you've gone into the MyStuff settings and exited from MyStuff, THEN you need to go into the native Toppy archive by pressing the Archive button on the remote (Andy's already posted to tell you where to find the archive button).

Then press <<
That should bring up your TAPs
Then navigate to the Utilities folder
Then select and hit OK on FastScanGUI and follow my instructions above.

Julie said to press the Archive button having exited MyStuff via its menu.

On the 5810 remote, the Archive button is on the right of the second row down in the lowest group of buttons.

When in the native archive, press the << button which will take you to Program Files. Click down to Utilities and click OK, then select FastscanGUI.

A list of transmitters will appear, grouped in regions. It's best to click up so that you start at the end of the alphabet as you're trying to get to Wales. Then click OK on Wenvoe 27 Apr 11, then press the record button, then click OK on the next screen without changing anything.

Hi Andy
Its sad, now I can almost understand the instructions I have a problem.
Trying to find the Archive button I pressed menu the screen went blue and locked, with that up came channel three but in the programme bar was a line of YYYYYYYYYYY.
The 5810 kept loading, first it said Run, then on came channel 3 again and cut out again and that just went on without stopping somtimes it said wait.
In the end I had to switch it off, I was wondering if I leave it until the morning it may clear its self or I may have to send it back to you (At my expense because I don?t know what I?m doing) what do you think?
Thanks
Derek

No, it won't.

Try starting your Toppy while holding the 0 button on the remote; this will stop any TAPs loading. If it starts OK, do the retune as previously described.

Hi Andy
No I?m out of luck,
I tried turning it on and pressing the 0 but nothing happened. It?s now still playing ITV but none of the buttons work it?s just locked on. Now and then it goes off and the box says loading then run then, after a while the picture comes back on.
I thought I was doing well today, I?m buying a new KIA Picanto for my wife and I managed to get a spare wheel at a reasonable price but tonight after trying for an hour or two it?s turned out for the worse.
Do you mind if I send it back tomorrow, if so I can drop it off at the post office in our village.
Sorry about this,
Take care,
Derek

You have to hold the 0 button until the picture appears.

Karvindon's 5810 came back yesterday. The user settings EEPROM was corrupted which necessitated loading EmptySettings followed by a factory reset.

This corruption was almost certainly caused by excessive channels leading to it running out of RAM and crashing.

It cannot be overstated that a 5810 must have its channels culled, especially when running MyStuff. The Channel Organiser TAP is the easiest way to delete the dross channels, but it's vitally important to ensure that only one transmitter is being tuned in the first place.

For those who may not be aware, the Channel Management routines in TopManager provide an easy way to delete all "Pay, Porn, Shopping and Social" channels

... which is why I wrote and repeatedly refer to the Toppy Memory article, including earlier in this very thread, in relation to the pros and cons of 5800s vs 5810s, and why (knowing Karvindon's level of technical expertise), I recommended that Karvindon would be better off with a 5800.

Thanks Geoff. I have updated the article to say that.
