Quite pricey at 440. And probably not Freeview or freesat certified, which may or may not be a good thing.

It is possible to get the box with 2 DVB-T2 tuners, and in Sweden some Topfield users have turned over to the swedish "Miraclebox M9" which is basically the same box as Icecrypt STC6000.

... and if the box works with the british DVB-T2 broadcasting then there will probably be no encryption on recordings of HD channels!

You can make your own plugins with the use of C++, and one of the swedish users have made a (simple) search-engine to generate auto-timers, but it might be possible to translate (some?)TAPs to this new environment

EDIT:
The box is made by (another!) South Korean manufacturer Fortis....

and aka
- Octagon SF 1028P
- Atevio AV 7500 HD PVR
- Rebox RE-8500HD PVR
- Skyway Droid
- and probably more.....

Wow! That looks like a real attempt to do the TAP thing.

There are more plugins dedicated to the Octagon version:

Interesting posts Miri.

Do you or anybody else know if any of these boxes are UK compatible/available?

I can't say anything about compatibility, but it is available, though at a very high price compared to the rest of Europe...!

You can get the Octagon model in the UK, but it is german optimized.

The FW has been upgraded and improved several times the last year, and now I have only a mayor problem with the danish DVB-subtitles, but then again - i also had a problem with the DVB-subtitles when using my Toppy, that was never fixed!
