I'm a regular viewer and occasional contributor to the excellent Toppy forum.

My viewing can be on either a laptop in the lounge, operating wirelessly from a Belkin G+ Router, or on a PC upstairs, operating until recently on a wired connection from the same router. I say "until recently" as I have just installed a Belkin USB wireless gizmo to enable the PC to operate wirelessly. This installation works well and I don't experience any connection problems.

The strange thing is that when viewing (specifically) the Toppy Forum on the upstairs PC, the type is so small that I can't read it. Other websites, Microsoft, Google, John Lewis etc all appear normal. Using the laptop upstairs at the side of the PC also renders the Toppy Forum site normally.

I don't think the recent wireless installation on the PC could have any impact on this phenomenon, but who knows?

Any ideas?

Pete

No. I'll try it tomorrow. What will this indicate?

When not logged in you get the default skin. When logged in you get your preferred skin.

OK guys, I've tried logging in from the PC, but the appearance is still the same. I have used the PC in wireless mode and received the normal display shortly after installing the wireless USB gizmo, so I don't know why it's changed in the last few days. Any other ideas?

Pete

May it just be a question of zoom factor which has got altered? In Firefox <ctrl> - & + zooms down/up.

If that is the case, why do other web pages display properly? The problem seems to be just on the one computer with the one web site.

I have just changed the zoom on the toppy forum and opened up another webpage, each webpage displays different sizes so this could be your problem, try changing the zoom on the problematic pc.

EDIT: what are you using on the pc? safari, chrome, ie8???

I don't know about other browsers but Firefox at least saves the zoom settings on a per site basis. You can disable that behaviour in about:config (browser.zoom.siteSpecific?).

Which is why I suggested it may be the zoom setting. As others have said in Firefox (don't know about other browsers, but they may be the same) the zoom setting is per web site specific, and the 'one computer' is the one you're having problems with!
Have you tried it?

Thanks Bill and all the others. Problem solved. I am using Firefox (sorry, should have said earlier). I did try the Ctrl+ idea a couple of days ago, but it didn't seem to have any effect. This time it's worked a treat. As always the forum has come up with the goods.
