I don't know what happened to my recording, it's really weird.

The file says it's 1.48 in length so almost 2 hours, it started with my usual padding of 5 minutes of the previous programme but the end of Spooks is missing, it's just blank at the end with a weeny bit of what I think is Lottery stuff.

I'm so confused.

Would really appreciate it is anyone can help me out please.
Will pay any and all costs.

Thank You.

Please excuse me for sticking my oar in but why don't you just watch it on BBC Iplayer? The episode you want is there.

This is very true and been mentioned before - now I can't speak for Ginger, but some people perfer to watch, if possible, on a (big screen) TV rather than huddled around a PC - Also some people "collect" the recordings to make their own DVD series....

fair point but the bbc and itv services are now so good that unless you particuarly want to save a recording they are really worth using.
I have a boat and used to go to a lot of trouble when on board to try and record tv to watch later. Now i don't bother I just fire up the laptop plug in the mobile phone and watch my programmes from bbc or itv players. I even get Sky this way when I can't be bothered to set up the satellite dish!!

Hello Esling,

If you had experience of our flaky internet you'd know why iPlayer isn't used here.

I did try iPlayer one morning (supposed to be less busy) and it was dire, I saw more of the circle thing going around in the middle than I saw anything else and gave up.

It must be pretty bad if I can watch it without any serious problems using my mobile phone as a gateway

It's amazing you can do it via a phone.

Even trying to download onto the computer takes hours, I've got patience but not that much!

Sounds like there's something wrong with your broadband connection.
Have you tried checking the speed?
This site will give you some idea
http://www.top10-broadband.co.uk/speedtest/
Mine came out at 6.5Mb and I'm with BT whereas apparently a virgin customer nearby only got 0.6Mb and Tiscali (wash my mouth out!) 1.9Mb

Hello Esling,

Yes we've been down that route, even got as far as BT coming out, they were undecided about any problem.

Alternative ISP's are being considered, LOL.

Just completed the test Esling (we have done it before and managed to get .50 Mb.)
.90 download and .4 upload, I can assure you this is unusually fast for us.

Thanks.

That's only about as good as a dialup modem!
Have you tried looking at that web site I suggested beacause it also gives you access to the results of others in your area that have done the test so you can see if yours is a common problem or specific to your house.

Just re did the test and this time it was .80 so it's going down the tubes true to form, LOL.

We're with PlusNet, the highest speed is Virgin but there isn't any cable in our road so that's not an option.

Just about all the neighbours with various ISP's get more than us.

We're about 3 miles from the exchange which I understand may affect the service.

Thanks for your input.

How much more than you are the neighbours?
If you go to this web site and put in your address it will tell you what you can expect.
