I've seen pictures of the EPG on the toppy and I understand the restrictions of data for each MUX only being available when you are watching something on that MUX. My question is does the box have the ability to show now and next. This is presumably broadcast in a different way as it works on my STB that has no support for EPG so that implies it could be available.

Yes, it does. When you change channel the info box pops up, and it also appears when you press the i button.
Pressing right tells you details about the next show instead.

One apparent limitation, though, is you cannot browse the Now & Next for other channels, except by actually changing the channel.
Bit annoying this as it's obviously possible and works on both my old OnDigital Pace POS and my TV's built-in Freeview tuner.

Ah, so theres no list of all the channels anywhere like my Matsui DTR1 and several others do? I only ask 'cos my wife is addicted to scrolling this list and will not take kindly to it being missing It sounds like the EPG can't do this for you either.

You can use the TAP..Quick EPG58 to view the listings for all channels, this shows all the channels received now and future without changing channels. |

There's a built-in EPG which will display a list of channels that you can scroll through, but it changes channel to the one you have selected as you scroll, which is annoying.
It shouldn't be a big worry since there are TAPs to avoid the channel change although I haven't tried them yet; I'm waiting until there's a UK firmware update to match the new SDK for writing plugins before I start trying TAPs. |
