If [Kt] KeepTimeshift is working as well as the silence suggests then it's worth looking at saving the timeshift buffer for the times when it's necessarily dumped.
TSSaver is an attempt at doing this. Whenever the timeshift buffer is going to be dumped and it's actually in use (i.e. you are behind live), this TAP will cause the whole buffer to be saved under the name of the programme that was being watched, with a bookmark at the interruption point (if the programme info cannot be found the file will be called "_TS-" followed by the channel name and a possible number to make it unique).
(You can stop it running using TAPCommander.)
Edit: info updated to v0.5 functionality. |

Given that this problem/fix seems to be closely associated with the slot allocation, am I right in guessing that it isn't applicable to 5.14.xx / 5.15.xx which still drop out of playback when a second recording starts?

Well, "timeshift" is not "playback", so you'd be right. With playback you can restart it (and there's a bookmark at the interruption point), but with timeshifting the buffer is (normally) deleted.
And if you knew how many months' work it took between starting to look and finding the CYR issues on 5.13.X, then you'd understand why the changes Topfield have made in 5.14.X/5.15.X aren't being investigated, especially when they could (and really should!) be making more changes. |

Currently testing a version (5.13.40 only) that adds a bookmark at the interruption point, renames the file according to the programme that was being watched, inserts that programme's info in the header, and sets the time and duration properly. It may take a while to generalise to other firmwares, though. |

Now that version sounds really good. I eagerly await developments for 5.13.65. |

5.13.40 only? Or do we have hope if we are on .65?

Oh you're quick... So by that statement I assumed it supports every known firmware under the sun including those Russian ones?

Was that a "yes" then? Or a "no"? Or a "erm, it might work"?
Well, I'm feeling brave, so here we go ....... |

Could be a "no" on 5.13.65..... Press "Pause", leave for at least 1 min, then change channel. V0.1 was OK, produced an apparent zero-time file in the native archive which played back yesterday (and appeared in Badfiles in the MS archive).
V0.2 produces nothing at all for me (unless of course I did something wrong).
Checked that it was running using TAPCommander, and yes, I did reboot. |

Er, as I thought - I did something wrong
Yesterday I started watching the timeshift from pause, today I just changed channels without unpausing
Start watching by unpausing, AND IT WORKS!!! - correct name and time (although MS archive still has it in Badfiles)
Sorry R2_D2 for doubting your work. |

Just looked again at the native arcive - although the paused buffer was more than a minute, the archive has it as 0 mins, which I guess would explain my MS puts it into the Badfiles folder. Although when you play it (from native archive) MS info box gives a time of 2 mins. |
