I had some time to fix the remaining known issues.
Here?s the download of HDFW V2.
New features since V1.1
- Add or remove patches from a tfd-file, the firmware in flash or RAM
- Create a backup of the current firmware in flash
- New GUI
.tap and .lng should be copied into the ProgramFiles folder. The ProfileEditor.tap can be used to play around with the colours of the dialog but is not needed to run HDFW. All patch files (*.ftp), firmware files (*.tfd) and optionally the aXeL loader (aXeL.tfd) should be copied into the folder ProgramFiles\HDFW_Firmware. It is automatically created upon the first launch of HDFW. |

| I'd just like to thank FireBird for the huge amount of hard work he's put into this. The change over v1.1 is enormous, and his new GUI system (available for everyone in FireBirdLib) is really lovely. There's no excuse to miss out on the essential patches now! |

I've just tried it a few times.
It requires 12M of free Memory so I had to boot with no TAPs first. This suggests that I have too many TAPs running so a bit of spring cleaning may be in order . I'm running the latest software which gives more free memory after loading TAPs
After the reboot instigated by the TAP I always get 'verifying files and folders'. This is something I seldom see but I've re-flashed 4 times using this TAP and I get it every time. |

The "normal" reboot does a clunk and ends up without recognising the hard disk (on my standard 160Gb Toppy, at least). FireBird has managed to tweak this (not putting the disk into sleep mode, I think), and I notice you've not got the normal disk in your Toppy, so maybe there's an issue there. |

| The ProfileEditor tap complains it cannot find it's .lng file. |

I've fitted the Samsung HD400LD which is, I believe, from the same range that Topfield fit for the 160/250G models. |

I got the impression that this would tell me the patches on the running f/w - I just get a "firmware folder empty" and OK closes the TAP. |

Right now, you need at least one firmware file in HDFW_Firmware. |

Great work - the new GUI looks good as well. Patching and upgrading firmware is even simpler now. |

Edit:
Update Re: verifying files and folders
Although the first 4 'flashes' resulted in verifying files and folders I have since done a few more without problems (swapping between two versions of firmware) |

Just had a play around with this and so far so good.
It looks and and works great.
Has anyone been able to use the Use Ram option?
When i use this I can get a list of patches that it says I can select to flash the ram with, but when i try to and select the option about the bottom to apply patches, this option is grayed out.
Anyone else seen/getting this?
Thanks
Andrew |

As soon as you (de-)select a patch, it is immediately applied. |
