Currently:
If you are recording the Toppy shows the channel it is recording from in a red roundel.
If you are playing the Toppy shows the programme name in a green roundel.
Is it possible a TAP could enable the Toppy to show the name of the programme that is recording in the red roundel?
Just a thought, as I am often cross referencing the EPG to see what recordings are currently active.

Isn't this one of the options in ImproBox? I'm pretty sure you can switch to Improbox-style for the record indicators. And you can also, if you want, have the box pop up on screen telling you when recordings start and end.
And you can call it up and press Left to see the current recordings as well. |

I'll look into it, Nigel.
Might be time to go for Improbox, but I'd resisted so far as it looks too cluttered for my taste.

| This feature is one of the main reasons I use improbox. |

| Great idea. Might be worth also raising this in the MyStuff suggestions thread, as BobD already has MyStuff options to suppress the standard Toppy roundels, so he may be able to easliy (or not) add this to the next version of MyStuff. |

Pretty sure this won't make it in the next version of MyStuff. We are trying not to add any new features in a bid to get it bug free and ready for public consumption. As normal this is no indication of impending release!

I'm surprised there are not more TAPs that play with the OSD.
Another thought when chase playing could be to make the watched part green, and the unwatched but recorded bit red.
So you can see fround the roundel where you are. |

| QuickJump gives you an OSD when chase playing, watched (yellow) recorded yet to watch (blue) yet to record (red). |

If I remember correctly also ProgressBarKeys can hide these roundels. My PBK or Improbox hides them. |

I've just tried ImproBox and I can now remember why I don't have it installed - far too much change for me.
Thanks for all the responses, though.

If you're running 5.13.40 and have access to the Toppy's serial port, then just chuck this command down the serial line at it:
Code: tuow 1122eeff 80161830 26620014
This makes it show the LCN and filename, instead of LCN and channel name.
(In other words, it's incredibly easy to patch.) |

Holy mackerel!
I'll see if I can find a serial cable. Otherwise, I'm hoping Toni will add this feature to InfoViewer.
Thanks R2-D2

| You can have a version of QuickJump that adds this feature. New option near the bottom of the options menu. Only tested on 5.13.56 (and then for about 10 minutes), but it should work on .40 and .59. |

Will this new version come to the official zip also? |
