It often appears greyed out in Menu list but can be OK if unit is restarted; not always though. Therefore timed / linked recordings can often be missed.

Have tried hard restart on a number of occasions and today I changed the button battery thinking that might help, but it didn't!

Any advice would be welcomed.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

How old is your 5810? The PSU could need some tending loving care from one of forum members andyfras.

Are you running any TAPs?

As Hyde says, it's quite likely to be a hardware issue with the power supply. It's quite common in Toppies, but also relatively easy and inexpensive to repair. AndyFras of the forum can do it for you if you're not a dab hand with a multimeter and soldering iron. (He also sells Toppy-specific spare capacitor kits at a very reasonable price.)

See Toppy Repairs for more details.

Julie

P.S. If it is (or could be) your power supply, it's best to unplug your Toppy from the mains ASAP to prevent any further (more expensive) damage to other components.
