Hi folks,
For some reason that now escapes me, I thought it would be a good idea to update the packages on my Asus to the latest versions.
I updates the ipkg.conf file to point to http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/oleg/cross/stable and then did the ipkg upgrade
All seemed to go OK except after it finished the Asus was complaining that it couldn't find /opt/sbin/ftpd-topfield (despite the file being in that folder)
After finding a post that described the ftpd-topfield problem I got that working again, but now php is giving me a Segmentation Fault message when I try to run it.
Obviously something is out of sync but ipkg update/upgrade doesn't find anything.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

I see that a new php version is available (5.2.17-1 to 5.2.17-2) which I assume you upgraded to. From past experience a new version of php has not always worked well on my slug, so I'll not be upgrading until I've done a bit of research first. The problem is if you have upgraded there doesn't seem to be any way of going back to the previous version.
But maybe this error has nothing to do with the php upgrade!
Sorry, this doesn't help you much! |

Oh bother! I was afraid that was going to be the case.
Do you know if there's another way of getting the Radio Times data without using Wooders' RT2MEI (which relies on php to do the work) ?
Thanks for the reply anyway.

There's a version of rt2mei that runs under Windows. Perhaps you could cobble something together that just uses the Asus for the file transfer from a PC to your Toppy? (Or rather, initiates ftp on the PC to connect to the Toppy via the Asus to transfer it?)

You can try using rt2mei under Windows, Linux or Mac - link:-
http://www.wooders.co.uk/rt2mei/windows.php
When past php problems on slugs etc.have arisen, other platforms have worked. |
