Hi
Could I ask if the signature lengths, on the forum user profiles, could be increased in size? I find I have to truncate a lot of data to fit into the signature, I keep getting 'Signature Length too long' error messages, surely an extra 50-100 chars wouldn't be too bad? Please??

Or at least, only count displayable characters towards the total. For example the actual displayed length of the link to the firmware patch string rather than including the URL with its lengthy patch string.

You should add "Tx: Stockland Hill" to your Location which will appear below your name.

So I can assume the answer to my question is a No then? Sad

The forum is (as you'll see at the bottom of each page) "Powered by phpBB", which is an OpenSource project.

I guess somebody could contribute the appropriate mod or bit of source code to allow the signature to be longer, but (from my measly experience so far having taken over looking after another forum elsewhere), it's pretty tortuous to change anything, regardless of how simple it seems to be.

IIRC Nigel did increase it a few years back. Most people deal with the current limit so I guess it won't change unless Nigel is feeling particularly nice,

There is really no need for an character length extension as it'd simply encourage some people fill the space thus creating signatures longer than posts!

You can always get around the character length by creating an image (gif say) of your signature (different fonts, sizes, etc) in glorious technicolor and then posting that as your signature. .
