Actually, I was a ten pound Pom. Didn't even pay the ten pounds, because I was a very small child. |

If Aldarin is reading this, is there any chance of updating the "TopfieldReceiver" Delphi component to use the new drivers?

Doesn't seem to work across the Medion wireless link. Bit of a nuisance, but not a huge one. Works extremely quickly otherwise, very snappy opening and directory displaying. |

See http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/connect/usb/winusb_howto.mspx and instead ask why Microsoft didn't provide this from the start. |

This should definitely be brought to Aldarin's attention. A port of the tfdll.dll library to use the winusb-libusb components should allow Topset to work on 64 bit. |

Kudos for releasing this, it actually works.
I tried the turbo boost but still only get 0.80 MB/s, please fix this.
Please also provide an FTP server version of this software, so I can access it across a network, and from Directory-Opus
Topfield need a red-hot kick up the backside for not providing Vista 64-bit or better Windows 7 64-bit drivers, given Windows 7 64-bit is the new standard, on all but bottom end PCs and net-books now; there are no valid excuse for any hardware supplier to not support 64-bit windows now!
VirtualBox 3.20 and an XP SP3 32-bit instance don't work with Topfields' obsolete software.
I have to run Windows 7 64-bit, because I have an i7 with 12GB, so I can run loads of heavy apps like VirtualBox! |

If you read the first post you will see that 'qubits' is doing this for his own fun and enjoyment. He lists things that aren't working as he would like, and asks users for their comments and help. Demands are, I think, uncalled for. |

I would like to thank qubits for the effort he has put into Antares having installed it on my 64 bit XP Pro desktop together with the random bits of microsoft software I.m pleased to say it works as stated.
Keep up the good work.

It may just be a language breakdown or slip of the fingers (difficult to tell, as this was your first ever post on this forum), but (in common with Billmars), I think that you'll find a polite request will get you more chance of endearing yourself to the author and getting the outcome you desire than a demand that will only get his back up. At least it would if it was me working on it.

Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone. It?s great to know that you are finding the program useful already.
There is an updated version available if anyone wants to try it (v 0.2). It fixes some bugs with the way file modification dates were being shown and set.
Also, turbo mode should be working now
A direct link to the new Antares.exe is here. You can just overwrite the old one. |

No offence was intended to qubits.
I'm very grateful that qubits spent their valuable time even getting this far, given how difficult driver development, and USB and Topfield protocol development probably are.
I am puzzled at others responses given I gave qubits kudos and wrote please, this is normally considered thanks and good manners.
I am only annoyed at Topfield, their driver suppliers, and Microsoft (driver framework issues), for leaving us stranded for so long, given 2-way video media transfer is a major reason why I bought a TF5810PVRt over other manufacturers PVRs.
Regards,

No worries, no offence taken. Besides, I did ask for feature requests in my first post |

Well, now that you mention it, the ability to specify a default directory (both on PC and Toppy) would be nice...

@infernoz
You should look at the usb accelerator patches, which can be found on R2-D2's site. These will improve speed transfer. I have been getting over 1.4 MB in normal mode.
[edit] This is what I get for posting after wine with dinner. But you should get up to 2.6 or better (best I've heard is about 3.3) with Turbo. |
