ccs says he's wary of advertising his find after last time, but he seems to be the first to have noticed that Topfield.co.kr now have 5.15.11 on their site. The build is dated 30/12/2008, but it was released today. The Changelog makes no sense to me...

I think this release comes as a complete surprise to every one here (including the UK beta test team), so the old adage of "newest is not equal to best" is one to bear in mind.

Anyone had any problems starting TAPs or copying TAPs into ProgramFiles?

In the past I had occasional problems when testing minor updates to a TAP, but in hindsight it was connected more to [F] than a USB thing.

And since when have they've cared about TAPs? For example, who wants to take my bet that they haven't bothered to do the trivial fix to the remote map for TAPs?

I think the only thing we can say right now is that it proves they haven't abandoned us.

I shall endeavour to find out more, though you'll have to be somewhat patient, as I'm being bought lunch in Paris by Sony tomorrow.

My suspicion is that, again, there are new development guys who haven't been warned that we like to check firmwares out before they escape into the wild.

I have a picture in my mind's eye of a nervous squirrel being gently shooed out of the travel-carrier towards the nearest trees. Very Happy

I was thinking the very same thing, but then i thought it would just be the Nf, otherwise it would be the Split NIT Fix fix and that just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, lets take bets - I'm pretty confident 'N' will not yet be 'f'-d.

Well, in my never-ending quest to bring you useful information, I've installed this on my 5810 and done a factory reset.

It clearly fails on the split-NIT and so can safely be tossed back in the water.

My channel lists goes 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 16, 17, 23, 26, 34 ...

Up above 1000, I have

1001 ITV3
1001 ITV2
1002 ITV4
1003 Channel 4
1004 More 4
1005 E4
1006 Channel 4+1
1007 Teletext
1008 Rabbit
1009 ITV1
1010 4Music
1011 TMF
1012 UKTV History
1013 Virgin 1
1014 Ideal World
1015 4TV Interactive
1016 ITV 2+1
1017 Film4
1018 Gems TV
1019 Lottery Xtra
1020 TOPUP Anytime 4
1021 E4+1
1022 Sky News
1023 Sky sports news
1024 Sky 3
1025 Sky text
1026 Dave
1027 Smile TV

So, another firmware from Topfield where they have failed, completely and utterly, to address one of the most pressing issues, about which they have been notified.

Enough to make you bash your head against the wall.

Nigel.

Well, the content of the news summary on the front page (hover your mouse over the link) may give some clue to my feelings.
