TGD Builder is a Java application which converts online programme information from the RadioTimes website, XMLTV files and ClickFinder database entries to the TAP-readable TGD format. It includes considerably more information than xmltv2tgd (for example). In order to simplify the TGD import, the epg_upload.ini file required by the TAPs is generated as well.

Prerequisites are a channel list generated by the ChannelInfo.tap and Java version 5 (= 1.5).

Version 0.5 is online. Changes since 0.4 are:

English instructions
transfer mappings between configurations when loaded or imported
new setup mode for basic configuration of sources and target
ClickFinder source requires location of database file instead of JDBC URL
resolution of environment ${variables} in property values
new fields country, keywords and review
bug fix: fixed wrong channel being modified after deleting the channel being edited

You need to login on the German forum to be able to download.
You can also download the latest version from Tapworld.

I just tried to download it without logging in and it worked, but the page does not contain any screen shots when you are not logged in.

Does this forum support images? I believe it did not work the first time I tried. Maybe it is time for my own homepage. I need to think about this. In the meantime, I will add the link to TapWorld in the first post.

Yes, just find the "Img" button on the page where you compose a post. Obviously you'll need to host the image yourself somewhere.

The problem probably was that I tried to use images hosted at the German forum and I was not logged in. I shall put together some new screen shots and include them in the first post...

I cannot find an application named tgd2mei or the like, so I suppose this is currently not possible. If there is demand for a MyStuff adapter, I could have a look at the file format and add MyStuff support in one of the next versions.

here is the first question: I have been told that this describes the format of a MEI file. It looks like MyStuff relies on LCNs. How does this work on a 5000 PVR?

Hi,
On a non LCN system you can use the channel number.

To give an example of the same listing in both formats:

TGD format

Hi,

there is a new version which fixes two minor (but annoying) bugs:

Properties files were not closed directly after reading. Thus, they sometimes could not be saved after modifications from the setup dialog.
Multi-byte characters in XML files were nor read properly causing problems with XMLTV files with UTF-8 encoding.

So far, I have not been able to work on the MEI adapter, but I intend to.
