I keep the number low to make sure I dont go anywhere near the limit, but you do need more than 1 day so you can look in and see any conflicts in plenty of time.

BobD wrote: But MyStuff handles this itself, so even if MyStuff has already set all 70 timers, you can still press Rec to record another program and MyStuff will swap out one of those 70 (to an excess timer) in order to set the one you want. So there are no problems to solve here, unless I am missing your point.
There is no problem to solve if you purely use MyStuff - but the problem is if all the timer slots are full then other apps are not able to set timers, hence the suggestion of MyStuff only setting 60 so there was 10 free for other apps.
Thanks

| We may consider adding the max to set as an option then at some point (maybe for the next version, maybe not). Just setting it to 60 would be too many for some people and too few for others. |

The TF5000 has 4 bytes less in its header than the TF5800. The channel name is still the same place but the other items of interest are 4 bytes earlier. ISTR there is a thread in TAP Development on the header format. I can send you a .h file if you want. |

With 5100PVRc, there's some problem with the channel name, too. I did as BobD asked and recorded 1 minute of radio. I uploaded it to
http://www.kolumbus.fi/terje.bergstrom/Iltaklassinen..rec
The channel is "YLEN KLASSINEN". The name of the programme is "Iltaklassinen.", time 15/11 (today) at 18:00 - 00:05. The description is
18.00 Aarioita ranskalaisista oopperoista Cadmus et Harmione, Perseus, Amadis et Gaule, Les Indes Galantes, Orfeus ja Eurydike, Alceste, Ifigeneia Tauriissa, Les Pèlerins de la Mecque, Ariodant, Les Abencérages, Troijalaiset, Penelope
No extended description. |

Dan
The native toppy may be able to set timers I haven't tried, I don't use anything native from the toppy anymore.
MyStuff is the only TAP that can set and handle Excess timers
Im happy with it as it is, but mabe it should be and option for other users.

I think that's a slightly different problem to the moved data. The channel name is in the same place but the first character is a non-printable 0x05. It is used to specify a different character set from the DVB default. ISTR similar problems with German channel names in the past for similar reasons.

Those details appear to be 6 bytes early in the file. Possibly I may have mis-remembered the 4 bytes bit, or possibly the TF5000 and TF5100 are different. Again there are non-printable 0x05 characters present. |

| Thanks folks. I will look at this file and the info from DX and make sure NextGen can read it ok if possible. |

With the introduction of the code for the poweroff button sleep timer, is it possible some time in the future to include in MyStuff some code that would re-start a timer say if there had been a powercut, to resume a recording. Also something along the same line of if you arrived home late and did not switch on your toppy until 5 minutes after a timer was due to start, it could start when it.
Usually in these situations you dont get your recordings.
Just a couple of ideas these are if they are not already on you idea list.
Thanks
Andy |

While I hesitate to distract you for one nano second from Next Gen I was wondering; has any thought been given to MS making use of the promised Freeview Playback EPG info in MyStuff? e.g. to make make (even) more sophisticated series record features possible.
Would this depend on the Topfield firmware conforming to Playback specs or would it be possible for MS to make use of it anyway? Sorry if this has been asked already could not find similar ?
PS Just had a peek at Next Gen features; Looks well, thanks again.

LOL It's probably a good thing that Freeview Playback isn't here yet to distract them. Otherwise I doubt we would have so many other cool features on the way! |

The toppy would need a firmware update to use the playback specs, I doubt even a firmware hack in the current firmware would help. |
