People record QVC??
Yep. Because they yatter on for about 3-4 minutes on each item, SWMBO can use the timeskip buttons to watch an hours programme in 2 minutes, only pausing if there's something of interest! She says (and I'm not going to disagree!) that she has, for example, learnt lots about how to do her makeup more effectively from the demonstrations on QVC. She also keeps asking me about why we don't have some of the stuff on our PC that they show on their SOHO progs...

@jedininja, @others re: back 2 back recordings
It looks promising for inclusion of tuner control in a future version of MyStuff .
May not be nextgen, but it's a parameter that could be built into the timer edit box fairly easily.
Cheers,

My father-in-law records copious amounts of QVC, particularly when they do electrical items. Sometimes he invites me to watch his recordings with him! |

Have just ditched Jag for Radio (fed up with expiry issue). I often record Radio 4 and 7 programs which I download to my mobile phone for when I am out walking the dogs.
I will manage this now via native toppy epg, but do hope MS NG+1 won't be TOOooo long in providing ability to set CTs for radio.
It would certainly be the icing on the cake for what is already a brilliant TAP. Well done MS team (esp. BobD)! |

May not be nextgen, but it's a parameter that could be built into the timer edit box fairly easily. Hi,
Back to back recordings seems to come up often, I wonder if we can dream up some new easy way to make all the back to back issues go away?
I have heard it said that Bob is not keen on running all the recordings into one. I also empathise with people who find the lst few minutes of a favourite program hidden at the start of another recording (and the reverse).
Is there some way MS could associate the fragments so as to make it easy for the user to find them & also avoid deleting before all associated recordings have been watched?
I wonder if a recording might be tagged as having possible fragments of other recordings either at its start, end or both. If that tag could be seen in the description area of the archive view it would help particularly where all the recordings are in the same directory.
Another thought was that perhaps the addition of a green spot put on at record time at the very beginning or a few mins from the end could act as an alert that the recording might contain fragments of others. (perhaps this is impossiable).
Thanks guys,
sometimes I just sit & play with Mystuff because it is better than watching TV |

That would be my next step - getting the recordings onto some mobile medium (phone or iPod) to listen in the car. What do you use to covert / listen to the recordings?

| Can anyone tell me how to get MyStuff to show more info in the EPG & Now&Next extended descriptions? I've only just noticed when switching back to the original Toppy descriptions that there is more text than when I view in MyStuff! |

@DToX
You need to install "Description Extender".
Then rescan with eit2mei and reload in to MS (or just wait, it will update over time).
[Edit] While your at it "Remote Extender" is also a good one to install, it makes some remote keys work more intuitively. |
