can you check a couple of things? Do you see a green light on the front panel when you press play? ie is the Toppy seeing the remote key press. Also is play set to resume or play from the start? Does the OK button work? Could you have pay set to resume and the file you are trying to play be at the end?
CW
Its not happening at the moment, but I am fairly sure the toppy received the remote key. Play is set to resume, however, I dont think the file was at the end + OK didnt work either. The only solution was to go to the toppy GUI and press OK/play from there.
I will keep an eye on the problem and see if I see a pattern. |

Strange timer message with MyStuff this evening. Unless I've missed something, it looks like a bug to me.
Toppy was recording Spooks, set via a control timer, 21:00-22:00 BBC1 Sunday 17th September.
Pressed Guide, moved cursor to Sopranos, E4, Sunday 17th September 22:00 to 23:10. Pressed the record button
Got this message "Warning. Although it has been set, this timer clashes with active recording(s). You may wish to adjust a recording or this timer to avoid this". However, no other recordings or watch timers are scheduled until the EPG Scan watch timer at 05:30 Monday 18th. Spooks was, and remained, the only thing being recorded at the time of this message.
Any thoughts? |

Me too! I'm just using QJ since it allows me to configure the Left and Right arrow keys to skip -/+ 60s (with RemoteExtender loaded).
I've found that this makes the QJ feature a lot easier to use and have in fact disabled all the other QJ keys (and in MS). It was far too easy to get lost with ppl pressing all the colour keys. |

I'm not sure if this is a MS bug or Toppy. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction...
I was recording The Royal on ITV last night and SWMBO said she'd like to watch it (it was abou 45 mins through recording). I called up the MS Archive and pressed the OK button to start watching it.
I got a TV screen (not sure if live or recorded) with the word Paused in a nice round cornered box in the top right corner. I 'think' I pressed the play button and the screen went black.
I waited a few seconds and then pressed the Guide button to try to see if the Toppy was responding. The MS guide flashed up for a second and then the Toppy rebooted. It came back with the Verifying Files and Folders message and left a corrupt 'The Royal' file.
Any one any ideas?
Thanks

| Can anyone tell me (Chunkywizard wink wink) whether the MyStuff team are planning to incorporate the UK logo project into the next/future version of the TAP? |

I'll keep my eyes open for a pattern, but it doesn't seem to happen daily.

I saw this happen only once, and it was when two recordings were running at the same time. Neither showed up in the archive until the recordings completed (or maybe when one of them completed, I can't remember).
Don't know if your still looking for paterns but I found recording a program that had all ready finished (by rewinding into timeslip buffer, then press record, okayed stop after next program, jumped to live and manually stopped recording) did not show in the archive even after pressing 0. It was in the toppy archive and appeared in mystuff after playing it from there.
Also using blue and whith colour buttons to select area from playback(I have mystuff colour buttons disabled apart from red = jump back 10seconds) and select save on cut. Cut section does not appear in Mystuff Archive (ever as far as I can tell) but is in toppy's.
Hope this helps. |

Pick one of the following:
1/ You shouldn't ask
2/ ages
3/ even longer now you have asked
seriously, we are still chucking around ideas on functionality, it will probably be months...

Hello,
A number of times recently, I have been recording a channel, say BBC1 and watching another. When I switch back to BBC1 whilst the recording is still happening, I get the start of the recording, not live TV. This happens until the recording has finished.
Is this my finger trouble, an option setting, a known feature, nothing to do with MS or a bug?
Thanks for all the hard work.
Best,
MG
PS Is it possible to schedule a number of programmes to play automatically? |

This is a "feature". It makes sense in one way and is annoying in another. Still, you get used to it once you know that it's there.... |

Its a vanilla feature see page 58 of the rev.4 Manual; basically go to archive go to each recording in turn and press red. Go back to 1st rec and press OK. Only works in one folder I think. Never used it myself.

chunkywizard wrote: we are currently working on button assignments in Next Gen and some proposed new features need new keys as well. Would you sacrifice a new feature to use the PiP keys for QJ? I am sure it's an easy option to code but it might be just as easy to start using the coloured keys. Let us know what you think I've been using the 4 colour keys and PiP swap for QJ, ie 5 keys, with their default settings. QJ supports several others, but it gets to be too many to remember. I've tried disabling QJ and relying upon the colour keys set to +180, +45, -60 and -10. I think it will be OK once we get used to it, but it is just a little inflexible.
I guess the ideal compromise would be 6 sensibly chosen keys for these functions. 4 colour keys and perhaps Left and Right might be good. |
