I've got nothing in 3.5 - what do you have ticked in 3.5?

Nothing, just the filled in square.

Just for info...

Win10 Pro (not clean; migrated from 8.0/8.1) shows .NET 3.5 and 4.5 installed (the latter with WCF tcp port sharing). Antares fully functional.

Deselecting 3.5 and rebooting -> antares shows error 0xc0000142 and the .NET 3.5 on-demand installer pops up.

Running the installer, antares works (reboot not required) and the original 3.5 state is shown under Windows Features (neither sub-option selected).

It sounds like a windows (update) issue is preventing the installation on your machine. If Installing the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10) doesn't help then I'd go for the nuclear option - a reinstall of Win10. A pain but hopefully for the greater good.

Thanks for all that info. Those installation instructions have all been tried (several times!).
Only had the PC for about 6 months, so nuclear option is less painful that it might be, but still a huge pain. I think I might leave that for the moment.

Thanks all
