There is a catch however. The hard disk has the click of death - it can't record/playback.
Apart from that it's in perfect working order.
Comes with remote control, manual and original box.

Stick a new disk in it, or one from your dead toppy and it should be as good as new. The original is 500GB.
I've had it since 2008 and it's only just gone tits up, so I've had my money's worth.

Pay the postage and it's yours.

Have you ever had the power supply unit overhauled with new capacitors? If not, it could well make a very good box out of it again.

No, I haven't replaced the PSU capacitors. I'll check the disk spins up in my PC...

Before putting the HDD back in the Toppy, replace the power supply capacitors because the voltages will be incorrect and may cause further damage, not only to the HDD, but other items. A suitable kit of parts can be obtained from forum member andyfras, PM him for details.

Well the HDD spins up Ok in my PC, so it does looks like a capacitor replacement job.
I've bought a new PVR so I won't be attempting it myself.

Anyone out there want to take this on?
My Toppy will be heading to the scrap heap if there are no takers...

Don't do that. Even if you don't want to use it, it would be useful to someone like andyfras if only for spare parts.

Postage is 12.98 with Parcelforce, tracked and signed for (cheaper than Royal Mail 2nd class)

Whatever you do with it, it needs a trip to Andyfras before it goes to its new owner (unless the new owner is happy to replace the capacitors themselves).

See Toppy Repairs

Alternatively, Andyfras will take it off your hands, repair it, and put it up for sale, with proceeds going towards the running costs of this forum.
