Upon using the toppy this morning Mystify appears to have disappeared. The problem is that I can only get the native guide up - all other key presses fail to bring anything up on the tv, this includes the archive key so Ive no idea how to see if it is still there somewhere. Added to this problem is a usb driver failure on my PC so I can't even just re-install as it won't talk to the Toppy. I am off to look at the driver problem, but in the meantime does anyone have any additional ideas on how to solve this from the Toppy rather than the PC?

Thanks

Nikki

Have you tried going into the TAP list from the native archive and see if MyStuff is still there and if so starting it manually?

Edit: Scrap that, just re-read you post. Power-cycle the Toppy by pulling out the mains plug?

If you've installed the "Win10 Anniversary update" on your pc, then the toppy usb driver will need to be reinstalled using z4t.

Sounds like the toppy is not seeing the disk drive - i.e. it has died or the file system is corrupt.

Have you had the capacitors changed on the toppy? If not, that is likely to be the problem and you should switch it off until repaired. Attempting to reinstall anything is unlikely to work and/or make matters worse.
Suggest you contact andyfras to get the caps changed (assuming they haven't been done). If you send the whole lot to him (rather than just the psu board) he will also sort out your MyStuff (if you ask him to).

If the disk just has a corrupted file system, and you want to keep the recordings , then I can recover them for you. If not important, the disk can be reformatted and the software reloaded.
Note: You still need the caps replaced.

Geoff

If the capacitors are OK, it could be that it was a disk wipe caused by a poor signal. In which case, something would need to be done to improve the signal from the aerial to prevent it happening again.

The Toppy in question was brought to me today, and was indeed suffering from a corrupted disk, almost certainly caused by poor signal (hopefully now corrected).

I was able to fix the corruption by using TopfHDRW, with minimal loss of recordings.

Andy,
how did you diagnose that a corrupted disk was the cause? I bought a Toppy off you Nov 2015, and today it went almost exactly through the symptoms described by the OP. I'm sure its not the capacitors, so need to look elsewhere.

I removed the disk and connected it to a PC running topfHDRW.
