Is it best to have the USB accelerator patches U and Uu installed on the Toppy if I am using Antares to transfer files to a computer?

Probably - as Antares is using the USB for transfers, you need something on the toppy end to implement the speed up (this is the end that results in the speed improvement - the patches disable check summing of the transfer packets)

Don't forget to use TopManager| Tools| DLLs option to ensure that any other toppy connection software you have will still work (primarily TopSet and Altair - Antares, TopManager and the MyStuff installer should be ok whether or not the patches are implemented).

If you are not in the habit of copying recordings between the toppy and the pc then the patches will have little effect e.g. if you are only working in ProgramFiles (this is because all the files are "short")

Thanks Geoff

I checked the DLLs using TM and it reported No issues found.

I only use Antares and TM, so is tfdll.dll only needed on the computer if I use Altair? If I need it, I can't find it on the computer.

Remember that I don't know what I am talking about. I am referring to the information here:

As I understand it, Antares bypasses the dll (i.e. doesn't use it) and directly accesses the driver.

If you don't have Altair or Topset installed then there is nothing to worry about; just put the [U] and [Uu] patches in \ProgramFiles\InstallerFirmware\Add and manually run the FwLoad tap in \ProgramFiles\Utilities (no need to copy it to "\ProgramFiles\Auto Start" )
