Hi All, I know it's a long shot but does anyone have the Olympic Opening Ceremony .rec they could send me please. My recordings started late! I will of course cover the costs of media and postage.

I've got the first 3 and a half hours of it, but it overran and ends before the flame is lit.

If you get no other offers let me know as it does show most of it.

It's also over 8 gig, so copying it to the PC is going to be a long job.

I've got it! It is 8.9GB though. Does anyone have some file splitting software to recommend so I can get it into DVD sized chunks? The Extend TAP managed to keep the recording going OK for me, so we've got the whole lot.

I just need to find a suitable time when the Toppy's not recording things so I can copy it off Smile

CutFile will allow you to cut it at bookmarks on the Toppy. (It's reversible too, if you get it wrong.) If you also have the [Bm] patch installed, the Toppy will jump to the bookmark point (useful so you can unset and try again if it doesn't get it right first time).

Be carefile with CutFile, I didn't get on with its partner CutAds and damage not repaired with JoinAds, glitches/screen artifacts on joins!

Back on topic, I should have an HD recording on a box with an Ethernet port - but its not a toppy rec file!

I've just posted a query on the CutFile thread - I've managed to split the recording into two 4.6GB .rec files, but I'm unable to use JoinFile to get them back together again... Not the end of the world at all, but a little frustrating it didn't "just work". I've managed fine with CutAds & JoinAds in the past (apart from one issue which R2-D2 solved back with v1.2a).

Perhaps I should try with booting without TAPs to see if JoinFile is running out of memory? Will try that this evening.

Or just exit MyStuff for the duration (using the last Z option in the MyStuff Menu), and restart it manually when you've finished.

Don't want to muddy the waters but it's still available on iPlayer the bonus being as far as I'm concerned it's without the annoying BBC commentators (it's not that I don't like them as commentators, I just found them intrusive).

I've successfully rejoined the two parts with JoinFile, just needed to boot TAP-free and it worked all fine.

Happy to send two DVDs if you would still like them.
