If your forum join date is indicative of the age of your Toppy, it is due for some new PSU capacitors.

The switchover seems to have exposed tired capacitors in many of the Toppies I've fixed recently.

You should also be on the 5.14.09T Freeview+ firmware, which has many more bug-fixes than your current version. Even better, revert to 5.13.65T and use TAPs such as MyStuff to provide Freeview+ functions.

Another possibility is that you now picking up Film4 from more than one transmitter, and the version you're watching is the weaker transmission.

The FastScanGUI TAP can help you restrict your scan to just your preferred transmitter. You want to make sure you don't have any duplicate channels anyway, or you'll get various problems.

The MyInfo TAP will give you (and us) more info about your setup, including identifying any problems with the channels.

However, you would be wise to schedule a trip to AndyFras or MikeyP in the next week or so, to get the PSU (Power Supply Unit) repaired. The PSU has a nasty habit of going from exhibiting slightly annoying behaviour to doing serious damage to other, more expensive, components (e.g. your hard drive) in quite short order once it starts to fail. Channel scanning is one of the things that tends to stress the PSU, so it's not surprising that lots of people with previously well-behaved machines are now seeing problems.

The good news is that it's extremely cost effective to repair them. Even if the PSU is not the cause of the issue in this case, replacing the capacitors will be money well spent on preventative maintenance.

The latest version of MyInfo is 5.5

When you unzip the MyInfo download you should find the TAP file and another called Firmware.dat . Manually copy the Firmware.dat file to your Toppy (in this case to the same folder as the Myinfo TAP). Then put your Toppy into standby and turn back on before generating a new MyInfo log file.

Hopefully this should give a more meaningful report for the transmitter channel you are receiving.

The latest version of MyInfo is B5.6 (not B5.5).

You can download from EMJB's website

Alternatively, as you are having problems, I suggest you load TopManager (link in my signature, assuming you have a windows pc).

After installing TopManager,
1) Connections| Settings - create a USB (probably) connection
2) Connection| Open
3) Tools| Install Files| MyInfo (this will put Firmware.dat as well)
4) Reboot Toppy
5) Wait 2 minutes for MyInfo to work and ...
6) Display| MyInfo Log

If you want to use the channel clean up mechanism:-
a) Tools| Install Files| PcControl
b) Reboot toppy
c) PcControl| Show PcC Menus
d) PcControl| Channel Management

Note: you could do a) after 3) - it will save a reboot.

Rereading your post, I see that you say you have installed MyStuff.

I can only assume that you did this by copying the tap across (because the MyStuff installer would have updated MyInfo to B5.6).

If you have a windows pc, please use the MyStuff installer to reinstall everything (firmware, MyStuff and additional taps). This will ensure that you are starting from a good base (otherwise you will be spending a lot of time trying to get it to a standard configuration). If you don't have a windows pc, then please say so. and I'm sure someone will give appropriate advice.

Found 125 TV & 52 radio channels

This indicates that you are picking up signals from multiple transmitters (resulting in duplicate channels).

You need to perform a scan with FastScanGUI (or PcControl| Channel Management) to ensure that you are using a single transmitter.

Your MyInfo log file shows that you do have plenty of duplicate channels (I usually get 87 TV channels on a single transmitter scan), and my original advice to you (2 weeks ago) still stands. And 2 weeks is a long time to soldier on with failing capacitors, increasing the likelihood of permanent damage to other components, if that's what the issue is.

If you'd used the MyStuff installer, you would have got MyInfo 5.6 and all the relevant config files in the right places so that your LCNs would have names associated with them, etc. However, as far as I can tell, you didn't previously have MyStuff installed and your log file doesn't show that MyStuff *is* installed now, so maybe you just used the firmware updater? (... which doesn't install/update MyInfo at all.)

Also, given that you've now switched from 5.14.xx firmware to 5.13.65T, have you done the very necessary factory reset since?
