I upgraded to 6.4 on April 4th, since I had to do a reset/rescan due to the Crystal Palace DSO I thought I might as well. I wiped everything and used the installer.
Since then the EPG for some channels, usually BBC4 and ITV3, is incomplete. For example right now (Saturday afternoon) the EPG for BBC4 is empty until 22:00. Since I have a Powersearch set for The Bridge, this means that the 21:00 episode isn't going to be recorded unless something happens before then.
Before I used MyStuff this used to happen often and I would fix it by turning the Toppy off for an hour on a Saturday morning. Since I've been using MyStuff I've never had to do this - it stays on all the time. I did turn it off for an hour today but it didn't help.
Could this be a bad install of MyStuff? Would reinstalling fix it? |

I can't work out exactly what you are saying ("it stays off all the time"); I guess you meant to say "it stays on all the time"
Do you have a windows pc? If so, install TopManager (link in my signature) and:-
1) Connections| Settings - create a connection (probably USB)
2) Connections| Open
3) Display| MyInfo Log
(copy and paste output into this thread)
4) Tools| Check MyStuff
Other things to check are that EPG2MEI is running (MyInfo should show that) and that the EPG2MEI.ini does not have any restrictions on the affected channels.
I would recommend fixing the problem rather than reinstalling MS (if you are really desperate, you could delete the existing EPG files "Tools| Remove Bad EPG Files" and reinstall MS - I think this will give you an EPG from the web but it will only be 14 days of data).
Anyway, post the log before doing anything else

I had a similar problem recently, which may or may not have been related to DSO changes. In the end, I deleted the EPG files (EPG.mei, EPG.raw and EPGdiff.mei in /ProgramFiles), and reinstalled MyStuff. It's been fine since then.
If you don't already have the EPG files - which is why you should delete the files before you start - the reinstallation will download an EPG file (including rt2mei data for the week after next), but keep an eye on it over the next few days to make sure that you're getting updated EPG data from the Toppy. If so, you'll see (S) timers for timers as the SeriesLink data becomes available. (It's not included in rt2mei data.)

Since I've been using MyStuff I've never had to do this - it stays off all the time. I did turn it off for an hour today but it didn't help. Unlike the native EPG, MyStuff keeps the EPG data in a file, so it doesn't need to gather it when you switch the Toppy on.
Having said that, there are lots of good reasons to put your Toppy in standby at least once per day (e.g. overnight). It prevents any possible memory leaks (from misbehaving TAPs) from becoming an issue, and possibly more importantly, it will prolong the life of your Toppy, as many components will last longer if they're not running hot all the time.
MyStuff has an option to shut down automatically at night. It will, of course, wake up to record when it needs to.
W2: Enable automatic PowerOff=Yes
W3: Auto PowerOff Time=00:15 (sets it to shut down at a quarter past midnight, unless it's recording something, in which case it'll wait until after the recording is complete).

| In the mean time you can alway set a manual timer to record The Bridge. |

| I think MS now automatically locks a manual timer. |

Well that was interesting.
Check MyStuff reported three problems with favourites files - two instances of blank lines at the end and one of references to missing channels. I fixed those and rechecked and it was OK.
I then exited MyStuff and powered the box off and on to reload it and reread the favourites. But this time I got an onscreen warning of duplicate channels!
I didn't want to do a reset since it changes the Scart output to RGB and I need it to be component to work with my AV amp, so I used FastScanGUI (not used it before). It wasn't clear to me which of the three lines referring to Crystal Palace I should use so I guessed the first was for pre-April 4th, the second for April 4th to 18th and the third for post-April 18th.
And now I have EPG data for all channels right up to next Saturday evening.
Many thanks for all your help. |

@quartermain
Which version of TopManager did you use - I loaded 4.1 late last night.
Using TM, you could:-
1) Tools| Install Files| PcControl (assuming you haven't already done it)
2) Reboot the toppy (if you used Install Files)
3) PcControl| Show PcC Menus
4) PcControl| Channel Management
5) Duplicate channels will show in red
6) "Check" all duplicates (if you don't want either, you need to identify them before selecting them - the red probably disappears when you select the first duplicate)
7) optionally, right click listview and select "Pay, Porn, Shopping and Social)
8 ) Delete Channels
9 ) Finalize
It would aso help if you could post a forum signature:-
a) Display| Myinfo Log
b) Tools| Update Forum Profile
c) Fill in your location and/or transmitter
d) Build
e) Update Web (or whatever it is called)

The dates should be displayed by FSG, and you should choose the most recent past date.
