Didn't think about overseas, just thought 8 muxes excessive! there are no overlapping channels or any of the junk high numbers so some intervention has taken place. Winter Hill and maybe others soon do also have an extra local Mux, so even UK complicated.
Not yet had fun with DSO but plan to factory reset and rescan each time and hope to not get into same state!
So tap and discussion is all great, thanks! |

Now had stage 1 of DSO from Oxford - and MyInfo had to sort out problem - duplicated BBC mux so let MyInfo auto delete the problem channels (NB after manual deletion of junk - duplicates not visible in Toppy native list). I did do a factory reset before - but now appear to have duplicates between 'BBC A' on C53 and 'Mux B' on C52. Mux B due to be turned off in a couple of weeks. Whose idea was to do this so painfully?

Guess I should have upgraded to B5.6 ... |

Good question.
Deleting all Mux B channels (apart from 303, 41, 42 if required) should fix the duplicates during the intermediate DSO stage. |

| I was hoping to use Channel Organiser to do that for me. But as it does not include the Tx channel number in its display this was not feasible so I had to do it manually. |

It does display Tx No if you select the right option, and you can also select all on one Tx for deletion with a single key press.

| What is the right option? I did not want to delete all channels on a single Tx in this case, just some of them. |

This is what MyInfo did for me, without a need for Sky Sports this is all that is left on that Mux:-
Quote: LCNs of programme channels found on Tx Ch 52 are: 303,
[edit] 303 seems to have nothing on - so if you don't pay for sky sports then not scanning the mux should work. |

| Thanks. Of course, since learning that Tx 52 has no channels of interest left to me I could have just used the CO option on 303 to delete all channels on this Tx. |

hmph - I have 97% signal usually 100% quality on BBC1 but recording of Doctor Who from the Mux on 53 yesterday is littered with audio dropouts and occasional on screen errors affecting only a couple of lines. Is this a consequence of the change from 2k QAM16 to 8k QAM 64 - appeared to more similar to the encoding errors that ITV2 etc use dot have! Perhaps I should have deleted Mux53 while 52 was still going!
To stay on Topic MyInfo confirms I have the right channels on the correct local Tx! |

I'm new to Topfield TAPs and I tried to use MyInfo in TF600PVRc. It didn't show anything on screen before Topfield booted automatically but it created a log file:

Thanks! Now it showed the information on screen without rebooting and the log is longer:

If your box works the same as our TF5800s, you have probably done a rescan without first doing a hardware reset (on our toppies, the rescan only ever adds channels hence the need to clear them first).
I don't know if FastScanGUI would work on your box (you would have to manually select the muxes as it is geared to UK transmissions). You might also find that ChannelOrganiser works (it can rescan/delete channels).
However, I suggest you try things one at a time so
1) Hardware reset from toppy native menus (don't reformat the disk! - our reformat is a different option)
2) Native scan
3) reboot box
4) Run Myinfo manually (probably too risky to put it in Auto Start)
5) Repost log
