Could I request a new piece of functionality for the next version?
If it's feasible, could there be a new option to switch the Toppy to a particular channel on shutdown/startup? I have children and it would be nice to know that when my 2 year old turns on the TV and Toppy, it will turn onto channel 71 (Cbeebies) and not onto something that scares her half to death (News with unpleasent footage).
I can do this by switching to channel 71 before I turn the Toppy off, but some times I forget to do it, and this option would overcome that problem.
Will upgrade to 6.4 soon...

Set an EPG scan for Channel 71 early in the morning, then it will start up on that channel.. That's how I do the same thing. |

Hi Bob,
Just found that if I select, for example the Simpsons for a "Series Search" it (understandably for me) selected a number of the upcoming episodes as duplicates because at some point in the past I must have recorded them.
But when I parked on the "Series Search" for The Simpsons in the timer list and then the white button to bring up the submenu and then clicked on "Rerecord all episodes" - it didn't!
It was only when I went into the "Series Search" and parked on an actual "Series" and then chose "Rerecord all episodes" that it actually changed all the duplicates into recording timers.
I just wondered if there should have been a "Rerecord all episodes" in the main timer list or only for when you are parked on a "Series" inside a "Series Search"... If you see what I mean..

Downloaded, installed just the TAP, everything seems fine.
I love
- the auto-mute,
- the Option J6 behaviour (though it took a while to get my head around the phrase "Continue with not recording the original broadcast?"  ).
- the better behaviour on leaving the archive (if I've got it right, it draws a black screen behind the Archive first?)

Great work by Bob and the team.
Cheeky wholeheartedly approves of the new cat friendly Dots screensaver. Not sure if I'm going to regret all the pawing at the screen of my 2 week old TV! Splodge and Turbo are, however, somewhat non-plussed.
Also, the new option to display the Archive when stopping playback says:-
'Automatically show Archive when stopping recordings'
Which in my view is slightly confusing and should probably say:-
'Automatically show Archive when stopping playback'
Only a small point but I think it would make things clearer. |
