Mine hasn't gone quite as smoothly as others. Most seems fine, except all my searches have disappeared. All the timers set before the install remain, but the searches themselves have gone. I read the similar thread regarding MS 6.2 but am little the wiser.
I don't have that many so it's no big deal to recreate them, which is what I'll do unless it'd be helpful for me to contribute here. |

I was upgrading from 6.2 and it does seem to have found some old Text searches.
I did a backup last November, so I've been able to use that, but it's very out of date of course. The MyStuff_EpisodeExcludes.dat file was also overwritten. |

| Yes episode excludes are not automatically backed up, but I did think the main searches file was backed up after any major internal update, so would have thought you would have one more recent that your manual backup from November. |

Successfully installed 6.4 over 6.3 using the installer (great piece of work) and replying Yes to all the options.
Briefly started going through the new features of 6.4 and found that Recording Protection only seems to work on recently recorded programs.
Trying to protect earlier recordings produces the message 'Unable to protect this recording'.
These earlier recordings were made under version 5.x of MyStuff and I suspect here lies the problem.
If correct, would it be worth mentioning in the manual the version at which protection is possible? |

For those who can use TopManager, I suggest you use the "Snaphot| Take SnapShot" option prior to doing the upgrade to MS 6.4. This will help restore your system if the worst happens (I saved a snapshot but then again, I didn't get any problems with the upgrade anyway).

Upgraded from 6.3 to 6.4 using the installer - great work from all involved, it worked perfectly.
Love some of the new features. |

I went straight from 6.2 to 6.4 and I did get some odd single-shot timers show up but I think that was more to do with my doing a full channel re-scan and pruning at the same time. |

Fabulous smooth update - love all the new features.
One thing I noticed is that there isn't the option to rerecord all episodes of a Power Search - only a Series Search - is this by design?
All in all great work guys! |

Geoff Bacon wrote: A minor point, and an installer issue rather than MyStuff.
The upgrade replaces the EPG2MEI.ini file with one that has no restrictions on the channels.
Users requiring restrictions on broadcast times will therefore need to run ChannelOrganiser after the upgrade (this will populate the file with the times held in Freeview.dat).
Alternatively, they can reinstate their old version, assuming it is correct, by copying \ProgramFiles\Settings\MyStuff\OldCopy\EPG2MEI.ini to \ProgramFiles\Settings\EPG2MEI.ini (this can be done using Drag and Drop in TopManager or, for Altair etc, by copying the file to the pc and then back to the toppy).
Note: For most users, the lack of restrictions is probably immaterial.
Geoff
I thought I did a no overwrite on this file. Do you have an installer log?
