We had a load of these tonight; I'm trying to work out what on earth is causing them.
Meanwhile, I'm starting a few changes to improve things, beginning with the necessary DNS updates to make it all happen as smoothly as possible. |

Had problems connecting during the day yesterday. Could connect last night and today but still rather slow and flaky.

Yep; I'm not quite sure what the issue is, exactly - inbound connections to the database server just periodically hang in the SYN_RCVD state, which is very peculiar.
When the DNS update is done, I'll be able to start moving the forum on to the same machine as the database server, which will avoid that problem arising; they're separate at the moment because of a hideous database crash nightmare on the web server which we suffered a few months ago. |
