Hi All,
We've moved house recently and due to a rather feeble terrestial signal, there's not a lot I can do with my toppy from here. I could spend hundreds on a new external aerial but that's not going to happen and I've already gone over to the dark side (or V+ as they call it - it's a bit crappy but it, more or less, does what we need it to).
I can't be bothered trying to sell my toppy (and slug - shame I've "lost" the memory stick with the debian install during the move but I can sort that if necessary). The slug has (had) working USB/Serial stuff as well. Don't need any of it so I'd sooner bundle it all up if that's OK.
If any developer of taps, patches, any MyStuff tester, whatever would like all this stuff then it's yours for the postage. I've enjoyed having it but am pretty damn sure I wouldn't if it just as it was "out of the box". Without this community I probably would have just written it off as another piece of modern crapness that doesn't do what it's supposed to.
We have some stuff still to clear off it but that isn't going to take more than a week or so.
No point having any kind of public bun fight over this. If you want it, PM me and I'll make an arbitrary decision at some point . If there's a better way to do it then let me know
To be honest, it's been one of the best bits of kit I've ever bought. But that's only because of the people who've put in the time to make it what it is. Sad to see it go but sometimes you have to go with what you're given.

Thanks Jumbo.
I guess it's off to the dock of the eBay then with whatever it fetches to be donated to the site. I did like the idea of helping a developer by providing them with a "Hackfield 5800" but if there are no takers then... I guess most of the "players" already have a second toppy for hacking about with.
Having said that, I'd probably prefer to avoid eBay, would it be acceptable to set something up on here? Quite happy to send the toppy to somebody to check it out and do it all "official-like" (less work for me, obviously )
Will hang on to the slug for now, haven't got time to sort it out for the forseeable future (and it gives more time for that damn USB stick to surrender itself from it's "safe place" ).

| No need for eBay. Just say highest bidder on such and such a date via pm (on this site) gets it! Bidder pays Nigel (forum admin). You get P&P from Nigel and send Toppy off to bidder. |

Ok, sounds like a plan.
Bids by PM for the TF5800 please closing by midnight next Saturday 4th July.
Once that's all done and payment confirmed by Nigel I'll send it direct to the winning bidder.
(Thanks for the input jumbo)
Regards,
Dave |

Indeed; terribly terribly kind.
Jolly useful too, what with PCW having closed, and me having less slush money to pay for hosting and such things than I did in the past.

Just to get the ball rolling on this worthy cause I'll open the bid OPENLY for £30 + P&P. Clearly others don't need to bid openly, i.e. PM davidb.
Anyone with dodgy PSU, motherboard, remote, FPD, Mother-in-Law,... this could be your salvation! |

I take it that you are the 'higher' bidder - in which case my job's done Good luck! |

@davidb
Just to add a bit of spice to your generous gesture may I suggest that you post the highest bid here a couple of days before the closing date to enable last-minute snipers (It'll also make Nigel happier ) |
