| I understand that N&N is broadcast differently to the rest of the Freeview EPG data. I use Disable EIT [Ed] patch which disables both. Is it possible to disable one and not the other, i.e. disable the 7-day Freeview EPG but not the N&N? |

| The reason I ask is that at present those of us who use the 'static' RT data can not benefit from any mechanism for altering late running recordings a la Extend TAP. However, if N&N times could be retrieved then some 'dynamic' change ought to be possible. |

| Try EIT_Sub (N&N), which drops the Other parts. There are patches in there already to preserve the mechanism that [Ab] and Extend use. If you have another TAP that disables the native EIT collection then you may need to stop it doing that, or maybe rearrange the TAP order. You won't see any difference in the Info box. |

| Dude, You've done it again! Thanks. So now we can all use Extend. Joy of joys. I'll try it this evening. Should this be treated as 'experimental' or has it been around for a while and I had missed it? |

Should this be treated as 'experimental' or has it been around for a while and I had missed it? I been using RT epg and Extend and it would appear to be working. I thought Extend was waiting for the end signal and stops the recording at that point, regardless of where the epg data was from. I guess if the EIT epg changed intra-day, the end signal wouldn't match the epg but with the 2 hr backstop, it's works a treat.
Of course, I could be seeing things...

R2-D2 wrote: jumbo is stuffing external data in the internal EIT storage. (No idea why...) How else could I use EPG Navigator and UKAS?!!! They can only read the internal EIT - or have I missed something? Of course now that I have the source code for both I could do something about it...
I have now- dropped the EIT Disable [Ed] patch
- enabled Dynamic EPG in mei2eit
- added EIT_sub_nn and Extend taps to my Auto Start
Is this all I need to do? |

Well, so far so good: Now and next momentarily populates with the OTA EPG (as it used to before disabling it with [Ed]) and then promptly replaced with the external RT data. Other EPG data remains unaffected and Extend generates a log file which, upon first glance, contains 'sensible' looking info (the human-readible bits). So off to the Extend thread to understand more. Great stuff. Another significant improvement to my Toppy. Thanks again R2 |
