Thanks CW. You guys work incredibly hard on this - it'll be worth the wait. [I think I might have guessed what the feature is.....] |

BodD's page already has that feature listed for the new version (although the "separate" recordings will be virtual). |

Yeah, seems like it's SeriesLink, probably using bdb's crid TAP. That'll be very nice. |

Hey R2,
I don't see that on the next version page, I think meadfoot might be onto something. BTW, if it was that just think how complex things become with recycle bins, excluding, autofilng etc.

Hi R2,
I guess you are referring to this
"If a timer (or a recording) covers more than one programme, MyStuff can now display the programmename, episode name and description for each programme"
that was much more basic...

| Actually, it's going to wait till 1 second past each Friday 13th and then secretly and silently format the entire hard disk and erase all the bios chips. Then it really would be a Killer TAP :-) |

| How does the idea of serieslink differ from a control timer? Don't they achieve the same thing? |

As I understand it, series link will only record episodes not previously recorded. With CT, it will record anything that meets the criteria, regardless if it has been recorded before.

| Also as I understand it if you have a CT set to only record a program on curtain channels and/or certain days and times to avoid repeats and you get a clash it wont record. Serieslink, when a clash occurs, can do a search of other times/days and channels looking for just that episode and record it. |

MyStuff analyses your viewing habits and intelligently programs timers for things it thinks you might like.
Tivo sues.....
... and records things you don't like and plays them back when you're out.

Close...
It'll actually record things you do like but it'll watch them while you're out.
Based on a secret algorithm, it'll then decide whether you would have liked the program or not and present you with a synopsis of the programme (if it's one you might actually have watched) or simply ignore the very fact that the programme had ever been recorded (if it reckons that you'd have yawned more than twice [configurable]).
Either way, the recording gets deleted to preserve hard disc space.
Am I getting warm? |
