Please could you implement a "smart delete" for CT recordings?
I would like, for example to record the channel 4 new every day, but delete the previous recording as soon as a new one is recorded, or record Simpsons every day, but only ever keep the last 5 recordings on disk.
This would be a useful feature to me. What do others think?
Yep, this is a feature i have asked for in the distant past. I used to own a TiVo and made extensive use of this functionality. Bring it on.....(please, please, please....). |

dvbgeek wrote: Internationalization? In my book, aside from fixing bugs like the hang-on-playback-or-resume problem, making MS aware of non-English characters (and treating them correctly in searching and file naming) would be the most wanted addition right now. If such an "internationalization" turns out well, I'd also suggest proper localization (i.e translations and time/date formatting adapted to your language) as a feature request for a future version, possibly done through text files that the user can create and edit much like the already implemented channel lists. Nope, its not Internationalization. Sorry!
To be honest, from my point of view that would be very low priority, as I would get no benefit from it at all.
Most of the features we put in are ones that I, SWMBO or members of the Team can see some benefit from (including ones suggested on the forum, which tend to get sponsored by one of us).
Hence full language support (which would take a fair amount of work to do) is unlikely to happen til we are really bored. Quick fixes can be (and have been) added as and when noticed/needed of course.
The killer feature CW referred to, which is indeed a killer, can remain a secret for a while (at least until I've fully worked out how to do it, if not longer!)

To avoid cluttering this thread with speculation/begging/bribes, please post all speculation/begging/bribes about the new killer feature in this thread. |

BobD on a webpage somewhere... wrote: If a timer (or a recording) covers more than one programme, MyStuff can now display the programmename, episode name and description for each programme
Does this means that back to back recordings (from different CT's as well?) will be automagically merged and two "virtual" recordings with padding shown in the archive?
If so fantastic as we have a lot of back to back recordings on BBC1, E4 etc and often find that the Beeb runs early and you don't realise until just after you delete the last watched recording and start the next one to find you've missed a minute or so (E4 however always seems to be late - less of a problem given that their programmes finish early too and have an insane amount of ads in them!) |

Hi chaps,
I don't know if this has been mentioned before
but when you are playing a recording from archive and you press guide
repeatedly, you do not get passed to the toppy epg on the third press Which is what I have set up in the menu, it should be mystuff grid followed by now+next followed by toppyepg according to my setup.
It passes the chain along fine in normal operation, its just during playback it goes wrong.
Just thought I'd let you know it was happening.

| About a fortnight ago I noticed that instead of the usual 3 permanent recordings I've used for ages there were about a dozen none of which were programs I would dream of recording. O deleted the unwanted ones and when I checked a while later the spurious recordings were back agin. This repeated itself for a few days and some of the unwanted recordings recorded and were in the archive. I puzzled over it and decided to remove My Stuff and its associated Mei mate out of the Start up file. Since then I have had no spurious recordings - but I liked My Stuff and want it back. I am running on 5.13.40. |

It sounds like you have unwanted control timers. I recommend you reinstall MyStuff and read through the manual. This will tell you all about ControlTimers, one fo the best features on MyStuff and not too hard to get to grips with.
If you still have problems feel free to post again. |

MyStuff also gets the programme information completely wrong if the programme is quite short (which happens a lot with kids stuff).
Also, you can check which CT generated which timer by highlighting the timer in the MyStuff list of timers and then pressing > until you get to the CT section. The generating CT will be highlighted (and won't necessarily have anything in common with the timer info, if the programme is a short one, as above). |

| Thanks dannb77. When you say reinstall My Stuff, is it sufficient just to put MyStuff back in to the Start up file or do I need to get a fresh copy and replace the old one?? |
