Just a quick note to confirm that having removed the / from the folder names I am now up and running with MyStuff. The other punctuation characters I mentioned are not a problem.
I have set up some Control Timers for Bremner, Bird & Fortune which is always moving around the Saturday evening schedule and for the motor sport programmes that are on at odd times on odd days overnight on Five. I seem to recall that someone has a way of setting up a CT for the MotoGP quali and xtra coverage on BBCi. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for that (no rush as next round is three weeks away).
Thanks to all who took the time and trouble to help me with this. See! I said it would be something bleeding obvious. |

Partly viewed programmes keep resetting themselves to unwatched!
I've not yet been able to track down exactly when it happens but I'm fairly sure it only started with version 5.x. Are you using multi-user support? If so, the "watched percentage" is user-specific, so if you watch something and then switch users, it will still appear unwatched for the other user.
If not, please can you try to narrow down when it does and doesn't happen.
Julie
It's only happened twice since I first posted and the first time I didn't notice but yesterday this is what I did:
Switched on and went into archive. The last programme I had watched was displaying as x% completed. Scrolled to the bottom of the list to the most recent (unwatched) recording and pressed white to delete it. The partly watched programme then reset to unwatched!
I do this regularly and it definitley doesn't happen every time.
I'm not using multi-user. The only TAPs I have loaded are MyStuff (and its companion TAPs) and MEI Search.
Has no one else experienced this? |

| Actually, some of the Team have seen this at various times, and been totally unable to reproduce it on demand. If anyone can work out how to do this every time then please do let us know, and we can include a fix in the next version. It is probably something very simple, but very specific. |

| Oversight? I think the links between from the CT pages, timers, recordings and EPG pages is fantastic and I find myself using it all the time to resolve conflicts and things. However, I think there's an oversight in this navigation: the link back from EPG is missing. Pressing Archive on programme highlighted in the EPG doesn't take you to a similarly named entry in the Archive list (if there is one). And by default the timers list button is White which does delete/ex-/in-clude on timers/CTs the EPG, but even if you change option K4 to a different button it just brings up the timers list at the top rather than on the highlighted item. |

Hi. Had a quick search and couldn't see anything about this...
Just tried to rename a root folder in MyStuff 5.21a (ie 'Wifes Stuff') and found that all the folders within it ('Eastenders', 'ER', etc)became empty. When i changed the name back to what it was before, all the programs returned.
Anyone else seen this?
PS: Machine was recording at the time so didn't investigate much further... |

| That is odd, as it should work fine. Chances are that pressing 0 in the MyStuff Archive would solve the problem (as it causes a full rescan) but I am surprised that it didnt work anyway. Did you rename the folder using MyStuff or using some other TAP/the standard Toppy UI? |

glenmcfar wrote: I renamed using MyStuff. OK, just got home and tried this myself, and yes, it goes wrong! Good spot. I will fix for the next release. In the meantime, pressing 0 does indeed restore the counts and files, without you needing to rename the folder back again. |

| Cool. Thanks for the prompt reply. Glad to be of use for a change instead of just enjoying the fruits of your labour. |

I just set a manual timer in the EPG and the red R appeared. I then altered the start and end time to record only part of the programme and the red R disappeared. Now, I realise this is not exactly a common thing to do, but I thought I'd point it out anyway.
Archive recordings are augmented by a .MEI file describing what MyStuff thinks the recording actually is, working round a Toppy bug. But what happens when the recordings are deleted? I've currently got 165 entries in my MEI directory, and my initial Loading... on startup seems to get stuck for a few seconds. I suspect this is related. I guess I need to manually delete some of these orphaned files, but how do I know which ones? Maybe the 0 button could tidy up these files as well as re-read the DataFiles hierarchy. |

Yup it disappears from the epg as it no longer matches the program cell. It'll still be in the timers list, providing that you've not got MS set to adjust all MyStuff set timers, then it'll get extended again to cover the original program plus any padding that could be applied.
The mei files might get orphaned if you're deleting recordings outside of MyStuff, but otherwise they should be deleted along with the recording they relate too.
As to which ones to delete, it's tricky I'll grant you...
But if you sort them by date in altair then compare with a MyStuff view of your recordings by date, that should help eliminate the bulk.
I'll have a chat with BobD about how best to housekeep orphaned mei files. |

I usually batch stuff up and transfer it, then delete the whole directory. And I'm pretty sure I do that bit using MyStuff (and I'll certainly remember in future). However, I've just put the archive view in Flat and I'm astonished to see 165 entries! So it looks like I had been deleting via MyStuff. I blame the tons of short programmes for the kids that I'm not allowed to touch... Sorry for the false alarm! But it probably is worth looking at a way to tidy them up for when people, say, delete via FTP after downloading. |

| We're just checking the code, but the belief is that orphaned mei files are removed on load, and possibly epg re-loads too. We'll get back to you. |
